Golden Pheasant at Auchinloch in North Lanarkshire

We visited the Golden Pheasant a week ago and really enjoyed our time there. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming, giving me, my partner, baby (with pram), massive dog and elderly parents a quieter corner of the bar to settle into. They even had a dog-bed there for our big chap to lie on. We all ordered a main, my partner and I getting the fried fish. It was exceptionally well cooked; we frequent the Anstruther Fish Bar and thought the quality was equitable to this award-winning restaurant. The venue itself was a fairly ordinary village pub with basic tables and chairs, but we weren't looking for a restaurant; just a local, good quality wee place for an afternoon meal. The clientele busied themselves enjoying a Rangers match on the TV in the premises, but were themselves also very friendly, complimenting our dog and baby; one man even gave us £20 spontaneously for having a baby! Overall a good experience; we'll be periodically going back.

A last minute decision led us here, we enjoyed a homely late lunch. Not the premises fault but the table next door, can have this.... Bless the 3 wee frees who someday soon may step out of the dark ages.

A big fan of this place. Freshly cooked pub grub in big portions. Always very good.

The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming just like the staff. Friday night is steak night and it was incredible, portion sizes were large and the peppercorn sauce delightful, this will become a regular haunt on date night with my wife.

Meal was lovely I had the macaroni my gran had fish and chips and my mum had panini and salt chili chips we all really enjoyed it definitely be back

OIt's a lovely place. Girl got our drinks wrong then we waited for 40 minutes to order our food I had to shout the Girl over. No one came to see if we wanted to order. The food was lovely but we were there for more than 2 hours. People who came in after us got served first and were away before we got our main course. It was our granddaughter's birthday. I was not impressed. Won't be back

Been twice for the karaoke nights with Craig Johnstone. Both nights have been a blast. Bar staff are amazing and looked the part for Halloween 2021! 100% recommend coming here if you want a laugh and a good night!!
