Superb Chinese sadly closing any day and new owners turning into a Vietnamese restaurant

Andy and Mary owners can’t do enough to. They look after us so well we are regular customers. Angela also who waits on us can’t do enough. Love This place and those who look after us. Food is great. Love it

Love this place it's so under rated. Their salt and chilli ribs are the best I've ever had, absolutely amazing.

Excellent service with friendly staff. Food is very tasty. Just love a fillet steak with their black pepper sauce. Also salt and chilli ribs are to die for so are the wafer wrapped prawns.

The main course was lovely but the dessert was very disappointing. I asked for apple pie and cream and when it came it was 2 of the small pies like the Mr Kipling pies but not as good a cheaper version. I could have bought a box of 6 for the price of the dessert. The staff were very pleasant

Collected a takeaway tonight. So disappointed. Curry sauce was like water and the chicken Foo young was over dry. Not be using Good Date again. Definitely gone downhill.

Great we restaurant lovely staff always polite . Food amazing love the chicken curry and chicken chop suey no complaints so far and in nearly every wk .Keep up the good work Andy

The Good Date is absolutely great value the food is excellent and the staff helpful considerate and very friendly.... I recommend it and I drive 26 miles just to eat in it.....

There steak is the best about on a hot sizzler and there black peper sauce is the best iv tasted also there royal sauce is lovely if going here dont miss there steak and the diffrent sauces they serve with them beats anywhere else been going here for about 25 yrs always have the steak

Went here for Christmas day lunch - the place was packed out but still got served fairly promptly. The . outside shop front could do with a bit of an overhaul The decor inside is a bit dated but looks absolutely fine and traditional.The food was excellent and a good reminder as to why I go to these traditional restaurants as opposed to one of these buffet places that you now find everywhere.I had a steak which came out on a sizzling platter and it was one of the most tender steaks I have ever enjoyed. My wife had a more traditional Szechuan chicken with fried rice. It was a lovely sized portion, the chicken was tender and the rice was nice and fluffy.The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the first impressions from the outside was a little disheartening although everything was fine once we stepped through the door and the food more than made up for it!
