Had not long became a delivery driver for the company and it seemed to be going well, there was just a couple of issues about finding addresses of some new housing schemes with messed up numbers but my last day, I had just left the shop with 3 orders and had decided to go to the furthest away address and go to the others while making my way back. My phone kept ringing to find out where I was considering I was just barely 5 minutes away from the shop, having to pull in so I could answer it (obviously delaying the delivery, including multiple roadworks and closed streets everywhere, having to take alternative routes). After finally dropping off the first delivery, I made my way to the 2nd address but had to phone the shop and ask for a price because they forgot to write it on the receipt (another delay), then made my way to the final address which wasn’t far from the shop. It felt like management wasn’t happy with me and complained I was taking too long to get back. I didn’t like the attitude or treatment, they even had the staff phone me during a drop off that when I went to answer, I accidentally tore the bag of food and immediately told them that. I think I was unfairly treated in the situation, like the management was putting pressure on me on purpose and worrying that the food would arrive cold. All orders were kept in a hot bag and were still roasting on delivery so the managements treatment towards me was unbelievable. I think all deliveries were done in a reasonable time, even with loads of roadworks around the area. If I knew this was going to be the attitude, I would have never applied for the vacancy in the first place. I feel sorry for the other drivers and I’m glad I’m not going back. At least the rest of the staff were more pleasant and civil, including the customers.
