Very nice little eatery. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was excellent.

What a great find! Proper pub grub at a great price . Not the wallet busting cost of Duck Bay Marina and no pressure to eat and run that you get at the marina either. Just great food at a great price where you can eat in peace and quiet.

Prawn cocktail was delicious. Chicken curry was just OK. Fish and chips lovely. Handy to Premier inn for dinner lunch and breakfast , bar as well. No firm favourites, sticky toffee pudding or bread pudding seams to be available at any of the Brewers Fayre recently visited

Read the reviews. Still, my opinion is contrary to the negative input.I ordered the 'mixed grill' and it was perfect. My partner ordered the 'sweet potato curry'. It was delicious, although she did say the portion size could have been more generous.Young Jenny, our waitress was super efficient and lovely! So all good & we will return!

Totally rubbish, would not go there, food was inedible and the floor was disgusting dirty at 10:00am

Evening meals are consistently awful, cold, take ages & poor value. I know covid has brought supply problems but after staying at the hotel next door (also poor) over 8 times in the last 2.months you would think probability wise I'd get a decent meal. Have to stay for work otherwise avoid

Well I have to honest the place looks like it needs a good tidy up. Our food seemed to take an age to arrive. There is no cleaning being done at all. The tables surrounding us hadn't been cleared in 3hrs, the young waiter was unfortunately clueless to what he was serving and where he was going. The food was OK but not worth the prices we were charged. Certainly not somewhere I'd rush back to.

I'm not often a critical reviewer so I'll try and share a balanced review. This restaurant was aligned with our hotel so we decided to drop in for dinner. The good parts were the service was very good, the chips and onion rings were nice and the manager was helpful.Unfortunately there were a few issues with our meal. A rump steak that was requested medium came quite well done, the chargrilled tomato was raw and the beef burger was dry. Also I was quite clumsy and managed to cut my finger on the plate that I hadn't realised was chipped! We hadn't brought up any issues to the staff at the time of receiving the order but I'm sure they would have replaced it if we had.The server when collecting our finished dishes was attentive and the manager came to speak to us and gave us a discount on our bill.Overall it wasn't the best experience we had but it was possibly just a bad day.

Not great. Staff vastly overworked. 15 minutes to take my order another 20 to be served. Food when arrived was nice enough what there was of it, should have taken it up under the trade description act. Supposed to be chicken fillet on a bed of mash with sautéed mushrooms and tobacco onions. More accurate description would have been 1/2 a chicken fillet on a mattress of mash 1 sautéed mushroom and 2 onion rings. That all said the low point was 1 member of staff who I understand was the manager, table behind me complained about the wait, the portion sizes (agree on that one) and that the meal was missing several items to one of the staff. The manager was duely called who proceeded to provide the excuse that the chef was new and not very good, still learning the dishes and portion sizes! Witnessed him spend most of the evening chatting to someone he knew, treat one of the staff in a very dismissive way and proceed to tell the person he was talking to that he was new and again not very good. But the cherry on top was him bursting into the kitchen and announcing that he needed table 6's order right now cause they were kicking off. I wasn't particularly close to the kitchen so if I heard about 15 other people also heard.

Visited the Malt & Mire 1/6/21 with 30yr old daughter who asked for Macaroni & Chips the waitress asked if a we wanted a Large or Small potion of Macaroni, so not feeling to hungry daughter ordered a Small. Well what a shock it wasn’tsmall it was minuscule I would have said it was a Taster portion & certainly wouldn’t qualify as a child’s portion. It was served in the same size dish as my portion of mushy peas but was even smaller. After checking the menu it was well over priced at £3.50 & when we complained no offer of replacing it was offered simply to remove it from the bill. I ordered the Fish & Chips which was a healthy portion for which I enjoyed & have no complaints. Can I suggest that the menu is altered to say ‘Taster Potion’ or staff make it clear it ain’t going to fill you. The fork in the pic is touching the bottom of the EGG CUP.
