Nice, clean and comfortable rooms. It's a shame the restaurant stops taking orders at 20:30, even though we phoned to advise them that we would not be arriving/checking in till 20:45. Breakfast was tasty, but overcooked.

Multiple vegan options. Had the vegan quesadillas (had to ask for them without sour cream) and vegan chocolate mousse and they were both delicious. Really friendly staff.

Lovely lunch, good service and friendly staff. Excellent gluten free choices too.

Lovely place and views, we ate outside, service was good but slow. I ordered steak pie which was dry, meat not tender and veggies were frozen my partner had the burger which was also dry and bland.

Food was great and reasonably priced. Unfortunately the service was not very good due to a busy evening in the restaurant and also a function upstairs where there didn't seem to be enough staff to cope with it all.

The Borve Country House Hotel is a modern, 4 star hotel, located near the northern tip of the Island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. It's clean and tidy, with a nice restaurant and bar. The menu wasn't very extensive for a 4 star establishment, but the food was tasty and the portions were good-sized. The Covid restrictions had only recently been lifted and so there weren't that many guests when we spent 2 nights there in May 2021, so maybe the menu will be more varied when things get back to normal. There was no entertainment put on by the hotel. The free Internet was OK but we were out of range of our O2 mobile telephone network. The car park is adequate. The mostly young staff are very pleasant.Driving around the area is easy, with uncrowded roads. There are virtually none of the traffic obstacles that the authorities use to make motoring so unpleasant on the mainland. So no road humps, no traffic lights (so far), 20 mph areas only outside schools when the lights flash. We haven't come across any of those money-grabbing 'pay and display' machines yet, either. The speed limits are mostly either 60 or 40, with only the occasional 30 for good measure. No speed cameras were noticed, but then nobody seemed to be driving like maniacs either.Occasionally, mainly in the south, on Harris, the roads are single track, with passing places. People are generally polite and these seem to work quite well.Just remember that most shops are shut on Sundays!

Very very impressed.Nice friendly welcome from the receptionist.W asked about lunch as both of us are diabetic to be advised on a Sunday there was nowhere near serving food. However the staff went way and beyond and prepared us a light lunch. The room is fabulous.Looking forward to our dinner this evening..

Had a lovely lunch here. Restaurant was lovely and clean as were the toilets. The steak and ale pie was absolutely serious served with beautiful creamy mash and veg. And what a portion size! Truly a desperate dan pie. My home made moist chicken fillet burger was gorgeous and moist and lightly crumbed and fried. Served with 3 gargantuan lightly battered onion rings. The home made coke slaw just made the whole thing amazing. Great value for money as well. Will definitely be back.
