"If you are planning a visit to the Isle of Lewis then a visit to Comunn Eachdraidh Nis is a must. Our museum, which is free to enter showcases a past, rural, island community way of life. The centre has two galleries with exhibitions usually changing twice each year. The café provides a welcome pit stop for tourists and is also popular with local people. Directions from Stornoway: Travel North on the A857 for approximately 24 miles and Comunn Eachdraidh Nis is in the village of North Dell on your left on the main road. Allow 45-60 minutes from Stornoway to reach us. We are beside a public bus stop. Lochs Motor Transport is the operator. Please check the local council website (CNES) for timetables."

Such friendly staff ready to assist by setting up ramps for my friend's wheelchair. They rembered us from previous visit. We were so impressed that we went back for lunch. Delicious freshly cooked food. Very highly recommended

Best Sandwich and Wrap we've had in a while. Door step bread slices 😍 Hubby loved the Lemon cake and even tried to get the recipe. Staff at the museum and cafe very helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit and very well priced. Thanks for a lovely Lunch.

Lovely cafe atmosphere. Friendly & efficient staff, Good menu options, (our jacket potato lunches & pot of tea were delicious), the sweet selection looked FAB too and if we hadn't of been cycling I'm sure we would of sampled a couple. The small museum was well presented and worth a look too.

What a fabulous community hub! The museum deserves a more lengthy visit than I was able to do. The cafe is brilliant! Service and produce are of a very high standard. If you are passing along this road, stop and support the villagers.

We just stopped here for a coffee, we didn't realise it was a museum. It was a modern, light, bright building with a lovely friendly welcome from a chap at the door. He eplained all about the current exhibition - The annual cull of Gannet chick's (Guny) by the Nis men. It was a bit grim but really interesting and Nis tradition. We lookaround the museum and then stayed for lunch. A good menu, soups, sandwiches, etc... very tasty and fresh.Glad we stopped!
