We had one evening on our trip where we hadn't booked anywhere for food and options are pretty limited on Harris. Croft36 was pretty much our only option, but the langoustine soup was probably the best soup my partner and I'd ever had. That's not empty hyperbole, it was bloody delicious! We heated it up at our B&B and ate it on Luskentyre Beach with a cheese scone and a bottle of champagne I'd got for my birthday. An unusual picnic, but a cracking one all the same.

Nice little place, the fish and veg curries were lovely- (we just cooked on the hob for 10 mins rather following oven instructions). Butteries delicious and bread was nice. Just wish there was even more!! A lot had sold when we revisited 2 hours later.

What a fantastic concept. Great home baking and snacks left at the roadside for you to view and purchase at your leisure paying with cash using the provided honesty box. Well worth a regular visit as the selection changes daily.

Really good food but felt a bit overpriced. The food is amazing. The butteries and fresh bread are delicious, as was pretty much everything we tried. However I was a bit disappointed by the fish soup - it had a great flavour but it’s just broth. For £5 you should have some actual pieces of fish in it!

Bring your star Mr. Michelin - to a tasting of 36’s fish soupIt’s always a treat to see what new things appear in the shed each year. I saw Julie this weekend, plucking out the runners from the strawberry plants to focus the growing goodness into those plump berries, destined for tarts and made even better by the addition of her made-from-scratch custard. My star however, goes to Steve’s fish soup. It is velvety smooth with layers of beautiful flavour that tickle and excite the taste buds. This is no watery consommé or a bulked out paste-based affair, it’s fresh from scratch, it’s artistry and it's delicious. Who knew? Such fine fayre so far from anywhere.

A lovely little stand offering baked goods and small takeaway meals. It’s honesty based, so remember your cash. Of note, it’s had a paint job and is no longer white. (I honestly almost missed it looking for a white stand, so posting updated picture.)

We arrived for opening at 11.30am last week and picked up a quiche, brownies and some scones to have after we climbed Ceapabhal - all delicious and love the set up. We passed again at maybe 3pmish and there was still good choice of food so definitely recommend going past if you are in the vicinity!

When your passing, make sure you stop and try the home baking/cooking that is on offer! We had scones first, then on the Friday night went back for the curry. For what you pay, the portions are more than generous and the food is spot on.If we are ever back in this part of the world, I’ll definitely be back!

A great little permanent pop up, self service honesty based, hot drinks, breads, pastries, pies and tarts. A delivery service is also available should you need a larger or bespoke order. Payment is by cash only.

Great home cooked meals to take away!! We tried the chicken pie, fish curry and fish pie, all excellent, and the bread is delicious. The shop is unattended, relying on customers to pay for what they take and the owner will appear from time to time with more freshly cooked meals. Really worth the visit! In a good day you can enjoy your food in one of the nearby white sandy beaches.
