Wonderful dining experience as always, prime location to watch the sunset.

Excellent formal dining experience. Not cheap, but well worth it in my opinion. If you're in a campervan it's worth asking the proprietors if you can use their car park. We just parked up in a lay-by in front of the house.

A first class evening,extremely efficient service and really friendly atmosphere. It felt like a private dinner party!! Met some interesting people too!!

We stayed and got married here in 2017. It was such a perfect location, hosts and food and nothing was too much trouble....Thank you for everything you did for us and our family. We will be back soon, with the kids in tow!

spent three very happy nights here. Very welcoming and and friendly cosy place. The location and drive to it was fabulous. The room was in the separate building behind the house and was lovely and good views. The food was excellent as was the wine list!If you climb the mountain you see on the beach do not follow the books and go from the side! It was a nightmare!! But do walk around the point as was gorgeous .

We didn't stay but were given a very welcoming pit stop of coffee and shortbread after a hard day on The Hebridean Way. Will definitely be back to stay when dressed and feeling better! Thank you very much for your hospitality and care x Will & Tea Byrne

We received a delicious set menu, using fresh local produce while being surrounded by the most incredible, dramatic views - despite the stormy weather. Extremely attentive service, alongside providing informative local knowledge about the food that was being served. We would highly recommend Scarista House to experience the amazing food that the Isle of Harris has to offer, as well as the friendly hosting service from the owners. Thank you again for an incredible dinner.

We stopped at Scarista House enroute to Stornoway for dinner. The House itself is beautiful and we enjoyed relaxing in the drawing room by the open fire before our meal.The meal started with canapes of haggis bonbons and hot smoked salmon blinis and with these we knew we were in for a treat.They bake their own bread and our whole group were huge fans of the red pepper variety on offer.Our starter of twice baked souffle was light and balanced and very moreish, for our main their was beautiful halibut and guinea fowel for those in our party who were allergic to seafood. You could taste the freshness of this dish.I'm never a pudding person so appreciated that you were given a choice of pudding cheese or both. For those of us who picked cheese there was a great selection of scottish cheese like clava brie and locally produced crowdie with homemade oatcakes and for those who selected pudding a tarte tatin with homemade cinammon ice cream.The staff are warm and welcoming and happy to talk to you about the food, house and area if you have any questions.Will recommend to anybody planning to visit the area

Perfect hotel on the edge of the world. Such friendly owners and staff makes you relax the instant you arrive. Restaurant excellent with all local ingredients plus wonderful wine list. Rooms very comfortable with breathtaking views over Scarista beach.

Stayed here again this year and enjoyed it all immensely. I really love everyone sitting down for dinner at 8 p.m. after getting to know other guests in the house either in the library or upstairs drawing room. The food was delicious, well presented and the sunset so good we all went outside to view it between courses. Stayed in the same room which was beautifully appointed and the fresh milk delivery a welcome addition. Well done the team especially George the waiting on staff member! This is a very individual establishment which offers guests a different experience and one which appeared to be very much enjoyed by all.
