We came with small children in the rain for lunch and asked staff if we could sit at the open table and were told to sit at any open table. We waited 20 minutes to put in our order when the extremely rude blonde bartender came and barked at us to get up. No reason to eat somewhere where this kind of service is deemed acceptable! Ate at Charles Cafe where they went out of their way to make a tired hungry family feel warm and welcome.

The price/quality ratio is perfect. At first we were a bit scared the food portion would be really small or it would taste cheap but that was not the case. Portions are very decent and the food tasted great. This is an absolute recommendation if you want to eat cheaper then normal but still want some quality food. 10/10, will definitely comeback.

Lovely clean restaurant, cheap and cheerful much like a wetherspoons but higher quality. Food was delicious and fresh. The drinks were all poured draught but they poured lovely and couldn't tell the difference with my cocktail. Bathrooms are upstairs but they are absolutely beautiful and clean. Lovely staff members they are very quick and attentive.

I have been here twice before. Food were okay, great staff, would never complain about it!Today we weren't so lucky. We came around 12ish. After a bit of waiting fire alarm went off.. Staff was nice and seemed stressed because of situation. Lovely lady apologize for everything and suggested discount for drinks and stuff.. anyway around 1 o'clock we run out of time as we needed places to be in, so unfortunately we had to cancel our order... The drinks we had, were on the house.Lovely staff, just a bad and stressful day, l guess.P.S at first there was only one girl behind the bar, so well done you! Hope your day ended better than it started!

Service first class. Food cooked exactly as asked. Young barmaid had to deal with a duelling couple. She dealt with it in the proper manner and I admired her tenacity. Ten out of ten.

Good pub, nice decor and plenty space inside. Drink prices were about right for a pub located slap bang in the centre of town. Its adjacent to the train station if you only have time for a swift drink. I will definitely be back again

Great bar. Lovely meals. Plenty of televisions, to watch football on. Really comfortable bar/restaurant.

Stopped for a quick bit to eat! The food was good! However, the chicken pie could have had more filling. The clotted cream ice cream is seriously to die for.
