We got Dinner here. Multiple Vegetarian Options. Vegan was possible as well. Nice selection of beers on tap and very good Service.

The perfect antidote - everything lived up to expectations. Great location, wonderful staff. Will definitely be back ❤️

A real treat. A lovely welcome on arrival and we were shown around. The bed was comfortable and we really enjoyed the art scattered throughout the building. The library and public rooms were very comfortable and relaxing, especially the open fire in the downstairs lounge.The bookshop was also a great surprise.We had a really nice meal in the restaurant and enjoyed the live fiddle and banjo music.We feel that we have discovered this gem now and will certainly be coming back

Stayed here for 1 night after a ferry cancellation and I'm so glad I did! There was a really welcoming and cosy atmosphere, the room was comfortable, the staff were very helpful and the food was great!

We booked our reservation. We arrived to a mediocre welcome and showed to our table. 10 minutes later the guy who welcomed us said did I explain the menu? I cant remember? We said no, he continued to reel off the list of what the DONT have available. Extensive list of meals no longer available.With a small variety of choice we ordered the venison burger. The atmosphere was bland. Staff had no enthusiasm for the job. Everything felt cold with no personality. Whilst waiting for our food a huge bulb above me was constantly being switched on and off. Being sensitive to light and having medical difficulties this was not good. I asked a staff member politely what the light was for. He explained that the chef switches it on when a meal is ready. The staff turn it off when the meal has been taken??? He said this works better than the staff shouting across the restaurant to communicate when the food is ready. Very bizarre way of working.The food was poor. Extremely dry venison burger. No garnish. And a few fries absolutely laced with salt.Paid the bill and legged it to tesco express for evening meal and snacks. I hope we were extremely unlucky and this does not become a pattern as the reviews I read were promising.

Breakfast and coffee were superb we went back twice but sadly the lady at the front end (who gave the impression she was in charge) is very rude. She couldn’t even be bothered to say Hello as people walked in the door she would just bark ‘we are full’. Thankfully the staff (young staff too) all seemed to smile and did a good job at serving - maybe they could train the lady at the front - who, incidentally seemed to have the power to where her face mask under her chin when all other staff wore them correctly! Such a shame, but I guess because the food is good she manages to somehow get away with it.They should have received 5 stars!

Well located hostel, fairly basic as advertised. Could be improved by adding air freshener to the toilets and adding hooks next to the showers. The hotel part looked lovely and we ate in the restaurant - it was delicious and would certainly recommend (5 stars for the restaurant).

We called in here for breakfast and what a joy it was. Very friendly, helpful staff, great food and generous portions set us up nicely for the day. We'll definitely be back here again.

Absolutely amazing place to stay and eat! We stayed with our dog. They were welcoming in all aspects. The room was immaculately clean and well provided. The room had everything we needed and more. There is a lovely lounge area with a small section for kids and toddlers. It has lots of toys and books. Great for mothers to come with their little ones to chill and play in the early morning hours. There is also a small kitchen which guests can use with a kettle and fridge and it also an honesty bar. I highly recommend to eat at their restaurant as well. It is big delicious food with smiley service. If you are staying in Ullapool, with dogs, and kids or even as a couple this place os the place. Emily in the reception was so helpful and we felt like we truly got to know amazing Scottish hospitality. We will come and stay here again.

Extremely rude bar staff tonight. I booked the Ceilidh place to take my mum and her husband for dinner. It has a good reputation and I've had a nice meal there before. We did enjoy a nice dinner. As we were leaving we decided to look in the bookshop. My mum's husband found an interesting book, however when he went to pay there was a queue and the person in front was taking a long time to place an order. A second staff member was standing doing nothing, my mum's husband asked if he could take payment for the book, the staff member replied, "no, there is only one till". We know that's not the case as we just paid for dinner at the other till a few minutes earlier. The barman then changed his mind and said, let me charge you for those on the other till. My mum's husband handed him the book and a few postcards, as he entered the cost of each postcard the barman said, "impatient", "impatient", "impatient" under his breath but clearly audible. Perhaps we were too impatient asking a staff member standing doing nothing to help us, but even if that's the case how rude to say that out loud and treat customers who just paid for 3 courses for 3 people and Scottish customers who have been to the restaurant before. Very sad to see this kind of behaviour in the highlands especially in a place that has a reputation to be good fun.
