Cobbs Cafe @ Glenmore Forest Visitor Centre in Highland

Re. Cafe. Arrived at 2.30pm to be told that they had stopped serving food and were only serving takeaway drinks and cakes. The couple ahead of us successfully ordered soup and there were people sitting inside. We were spoken to abruptly and somewhat rudely. A disappointing experience. We sat outside and saw several other parties being told the same. A lot of missed trade. The words used did not reflect kindly on the cafe nor this part of Scotland. Perhaps they had reached some Covid limit; a simple explanation would have been appreciated if that was the case. Fortunately there are other cafes nearby.

Myself and a group of friends had a lovely lunch here after a walk in the surrounding hills and forest. Very tasty food and drinks and the service was great! Friendly and accommodating staff and made us feel very welcome. Thanks very much! Hope to return one day.

Popped in for breakfast and hands down the nicest Full Scottish breakfast I've ever had! Staff very friendly, cafe immaculate. Will definitely be back again.

Awful. Rude! Throwing it down with rain, we walked from the closed toilet block near the beach that instructs you to go here. We told the kids we would have a cuppa and some lunch though as it’s a fair walk. We walked for 3 miles to the visitor centre. We arrived in the rain, and we were told by a very rude man that dogs were not welcome, not even in the porch! There is the worlds smallest sign that we had not seen! It’s not even at eye level! Very rude. Needless to say, we left! It’s a mountain range, loads of people have dogs and in Scotland it rains.. a lot!! You want a hot cuppa inside … no one is going to tie up their dog in the rain. Ridiculous. The same thing happened to another couple who arrived at the same time. Also had a rude greeting and told to leave with their dog too. Fair enough no dogs in the actual cafe, but in the information centre, which is a hard floor and just seating, I think you expect to be allowed as you are in most visitor centres on route of popular walks! Nothing excuses rudeness.

Popped in to get a drink and snack. The hot chocolate was a good size and tasty. The flake on top was an added bonus. Toilets were clean. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good selection of food. The place did lack atmosphere inside but overall was a good stop off.

Brilliant wee stop off, from trekking, for a welcome break. Staff are young and enthusiastic,without going OTT. Food and refreshments are first class and fairly priced.

Beautiful place , especially come the autumn time , all year fun .

Had a really good lunch here. Friendly staff and generous portions of lovely fresh sandwiches with salad. Despite them being very busy our order came quickly and they thoughtfully gave us our children’s meals immediately. Sofas at the end with a train table which meant we could eat our food whilst the kids played- really made a difference as eating out with tiny ones can be quite stressful! Will definitely visit again.

The café had a bit of a queue going on at the entrance, and not many staff serving. Despite this, staff were friendly and efficiently dealt with customers.We ordered sausages on a roll, tea and coffee and soup with a panini. The sausages were a little dry and served on dry rolls, they looked a little burnt but were still flavourful. The tomato and basil soup was pleasant if a little salty. My panini... which I think was brie, cranberry and bacon was good although I like my bacon a little crispier.Accessibility is good. There is a generously sized disabled toilet with plenty of room to manoeuvre a wheelchair.Covid restrictions are also in place, which is worth noting because capacity is reduced.

We have been coming here on holiday for over 40years, it is so very beautiful and peaceful. However with so many people looking for somewhere to go in the UK it is becoming a victim of its own success. This year it was very crowded in areas you would normally find a fraction of the numbers we saw last week. Please respect it and don't spoil it if you do visit.
