Was very clean, really comfy bed. Not quite sure the strange art work was fitting. The reception staff could have been more forth coming offering other services like breakfast or the bar area.

We have been coming to this hotel for a number of years. We have stayed in all different rooms at the hotel mostly good. This year room was good. Food in the hotel was good. But having to pay for a cooked breakfast was a bit harsh although the continental breakfast was fine Will still be back.

I have Largely mixed feelings about this hotel. The staff were super friendly and we're very efficient. The hotel lobby areas are absolutely beautiful, the decor is beautiful and the staircase is something out of a grand movie! The walk to them room was a little hectic, understanding it's an old building I would understand that it's not made to fit. But it was like a maze! And as someone who struggles to walk long distances due to disability the extra stairs that came out of nowhere didn't help (no lift to get to my room)Then we come to the rooms... I booked a "large" room and I was shocked when I walked In. The bed basically filled up the whole room, it was quite amusing as the bathroom actually had more floor space than the bedroom itself. The mattress with thin and uncomfortable. The walls in the room/other rooms are paper thin. I could hear everything the next room was saying and they were up very late. Then when morning time came after a night of uncomfortable sleep, I was awoken at around 9am (if not earlier) by the sound of housekeeping battering through the hallway with no regard to others. The check in/out times are a bit crazy. 10am check out and a 3pm check in to me seems a little bit cheeky. That being said, the rooms were spotless and equipped well (Iron, blankets, tea and coffee station) and the staff were aceWould I stay here again? Probably not I would Only for 1 night if I were to again, any longer and I would definitely struggle.

Right in the heart of the city, lovely entrance. Room was fantastic, spacious with fridge and washing machine, which was truly unexpected. Not all have this though. Lovely restaurant, very tasty with decent portions. Good breakfast. Needing a bit of TLC, however not complaining.

So the tired is a bit tired but don't let that put you off. Our room was spotlessly clean, bed was comfy too. Staff were all really helpful and pleasant. Ash restaurant was good, big portions and tasty food.

We arrived Saturday night on the 11.15 train so had booked a room here. We were grateful that we climbed off the train after a 12 hour journey straight into the hotel. Couple of negatives. The room was ice cold, it would have been nice to have it a little pre heated. Our room was opposite the taxi rank so was very noisy through the early hours when the youngsters waited for cabs. Room 107. Positives. The price is redicilous. £75 a night!! That's amazing for a central station hotel. We were able to purchase a late stay for a meagre £15 taking us through to midday which was appreciated. Breakfast was served in a charming large room. It's obvious that money has been spent on this hotel and it's good to see. I do hope it continues to thrive as it offers tired travellers a haven.

Fabulous hotel. Staff ate all really friendly and the food in the Ash restraint so goid. A nice lobby where you can sit with a cocktail or a cuppa and chill out all afternoon. Don't be put off by it being beside the train station. Our room overlooked the platform and it wasn't intrusive at all. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is if you are driving beware, there is a few hotel parking spaces but they are quite narrow and thete is no disabled parking.

Nice hotel. Shower was superb and the room nice and hot on a winters night.Would have been five stars if the free breakfast had stated it wasn't including a cooked breakfast. An extra £5 to upgrade from continental.Location is superb, literally 25 steps from the train station

Lovely hotel very welcoming, lovely staff, they even gave us chess pieces to play chess (encourage this more buy new ones).Dog friendly they lovely dogs no more said. The room no totally happy about so this is why 4 and not 5 stars booked a double bed got 2 single beds (we didn't complain just pushed them together)Bathroom overall looks nice and was tidy definitely but was worn and it was very noticeableOther than would have loved to eaten from the restaurant in the gallery area as its so beautiful in there too.So overall happy with it ☺

I had phoned day before arrival to ask for a first floor room and was told this would be done. On arrival we were allocated a third floor room. It was changed but did no one take a note? Went to dining room for evening meal, passing all signs saying keep 2 metres apart, to be shown to a table with very little space between it and two on either side. When asked for another table because felt uncomfortable being so close the waiter said to us we would be closer together if we were in London. We were in inverness, not London! The meal was not very good. The batter on the fish was chewy and not nice at all. The next day at afternoon tea the coffee was cold so we asked for another pot. The same waiter brought it and sarcastically said be careful you don’t burn yourself. I think some customer service training would be useful for this particular waiter. The reception staff and the lady in the breakfast room are lovely and so helpful. We have been going to the hotel for many years now and this was the worst experience we have had.
