Short break stay. Hotel was busy. Staff friendly and attentive. Although the room was clean airy and good size, it was a bit dated. Especially as the wash basin was self standing in the room and not within the ensuite. Room was located at the rear of the hotel where it got the sun but the view was restricted. Breakfast buffet selection was plentiful - hot and cold offerings. The hotel is ideal for a short stay allowing you to explore the beautiful countryside and larger towns in the area.

It’s generally very tired looking, the floorboards creak in and out of the room and I’ve got music coming through the floor from downstairs. It needs not just a new pair of curtains, it needs each room/en suite refurbished from floor to ceiling. Then you can charge Gleneagles prices and reap the rewards. I travel for work and like to leave decent reviews but I don’t see how places like this survive. They had to move me from my first room 104 to 123 because the tiny rooms sink had a constantly running tap (it just needs a new washer come on guys!) and the overflow from the gutter outside added to the noise. The windows were painted shut so I couldn’t seal it closed properly. The lady at reception was lovely though. Folk who have no choice but to work locally at these problematic places, I feel for. It’s not their fault. I didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment. Parking was available but not lots of it and this was out of season. The rooms are difficult to find and indeed a 4some of German tourists in front of me were having great difficulty to the point we were all laughing as we met time and again in the corridors. Indeed they had had to come back to reception to get the lady to show them where their second room was. I’d love to say it was great value for money, and I’ll be back but it needs too much work done.

5* for food 3* for the rooms. The hotel itself is a bit tired. The rooms could do with updating but that's about the only downside. The beds are very comfy and the rooms are very clean but the thing that will bring me back is the staff and the food. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food though? Out of this world. We had the afternoon tea. At ÂŁ15 each you may think it's a bit pricey but trust me, it isn't. Home made soup, four kinds of sandwiches and unlimited tea and coffee. Fruit cake, scones and lashings of fresh cream and jam. Thw scones were still warm.Four different types of cake to finish. Each. We couldn't manage dinner the first night but made it down the second. Pan fried scallops and prawn skewers to start with monkfish and steak for mains. All cooked to perfection. All finished off with raspberry roulade and a sundae. Even if you just come for the food, it's well worth a visit.

Stayed here 2 years ago, just before the pandemic. Room was nice and staff were friendly. Food was also nice. Going back up in a couple of weeks so hopefully we have an equally nice stay.

Stayed here during New year and was very impressed with service, food and everything else too. Good sized clean room n and comfortable bed. We were all treated like family. Our stay was 1st class for 3 nights that we stayed. Booking for same holiday next year. Thankyou to all the staff for making us so welcome.

A well run hotel. Staff went above and beyond, with making our New Year stay one to remember!! Lot of attention detail. Standard of food and choice excellent. The staff worked hard. We felt safe with all restrictions in place. Would recommend! Thank you!!!

We stayed at Craiglynne hotel for the New Year and were welcomed with mulled wine and mince pies. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The food was good and the hotel was clean and comfortable.

Stayed here for 2 nights last week, on a great priced deal. Warm friendly welcome from Taylor on reception got us off to a great start. Room was big & comfortable - only slight down side was that it was ground floor next to one of the hotel's entrances, so we didn't have any privacy. Perhaps blinds or net curtain would be a good addition to these rooms, as an alternative to having to keep heavy curtains closed all the time. Hotel itself is lovely - and felt very covid safe, despite it being quite busy. Don't understand any of the negative review comments about bar prices - we thought ÂŁ8.35 for a pint & a white wine was very reasonable! Breakfast & dinner delicious. And the service throughout the hotel was excellent - the staff were friendly, helpful and very efficient! Yes, as some reviews state, there are some areas of the hotel that are a little "tired" - but does this affect the comfort and enjoyment of staying there? Absolutely not! Would definitely stay again, and recommend to others.

We stayed an overnight and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The staff went above and beyond for us when it came to sorting dinner. As we are both vegan, we were worried about food. But Mark made sure we were looked after and they whipped us an amazing and delicious mushroom risotto. Was so impressed! Breakfast was delicious. Again very accommodating for everyone. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!
