Fantastic place. The food was excellent, staff very friendly and a nice relaxed atmosphere inside. Queue outside goes down fairly quickly and the well worth the wait. Would highly recommend a visit here if ever in Portree

Yummy seafood restaurant! We got the soup of the day (squash), the Manhattan chowder and the seafood platter which came with mussels, scallops, salmon, potatoes and a light salad. Seafood platter portion was large so this was a little bit too much for 2 people. Next time I’d skip out on one of the soups.I loved the scallops and mussels the most!

Come at 5:20pm when they're about to open. We came late at 5:40pm and they were already full with waittimes of 40 minutes. We actually waited 1 hour, but eventually got a seat.We got the soup of the day (butternut squash) and then a tomato chowder with one seafood plate. This was plenty of food for 2 and we regretably didn't have room for dessert. The seafood plate had mussels, pan-fried scallops, and salmon with a little salad and some potatoes. The potatoes were zesty and melted in your mouth. The mussels were very fresh and there was plenty for 2 to share. The scallops were the best part of the dish and were cooked perfectly! Salmon came crispy on the top and nicely cooked and seasoned.Worth the wait I'd say.

Delightful restaurant. We shared the seafood platter which was amazing. Staff were lovely and everything was very clean. No booking available so some nights you may have to wait for a table. We didn't but others were waiting.

We tried to get a table there without reservation, they said they were fully booked, I asked if I could have the tableFor that exactly moment (17:30h). We’re told we could get one table for 1 hour, but I had a feeling we were bothering them. So we got the table and I had to run to the bank to get cash, because it’s only cash accepted. The menu is very limited, just few options for seafood and 1 steak. So we ordered the salmon, fish & chips and a cheese platter. The food is really delicious, salmon was perfect cooked and the smashed potatoes with the cream sauce was delightful. Fish & chips were nothing special but the chips were very greasy.Service.. I guess it’s a main problem there, our drinks took a long time to come, the waitress seems to be all teens, not service oriented, and always rolling their eyes when you ask something. When the drinks came they were threw on our tables with certain violence. The cheese platter was delivered without small plates and fork and no napkins. In the end we had to ask a correction in our bill because they forgot the drinks.I guess the chef abilities has been shadowed by the bad service.

Good fun, good atmosphere, cool staffWe’ve stopped there with friends while hiking around the Isle of Skye. My partner and myself ordered the seafood platter for two and couldn’t have been more satisfied. Besides the fact that it’s a very generous portion, the salmon was standing out - it was perfectly cooked and very tasty

Came in November and it was great service and food! The menu felt limited to mussels, fish & chips and steak, but I ordered the mussels in white wine and it was great! Maybe slightly overcooked but the ingredient was fresh and definitely local. I decided to order the sticky toffee and it was so delicious! Would def come back again in the summer, and hoping for a bigger menu to try!

Simply Delicious! Some chefs like Don Giovanni spread their love across a thousand dishes. Other chefs pour all their love into few dishes and make sure each is perfect. I know which I prefer. You will too when you visit Cuchullin.

Went for a weekend dinner for 4. Booked a table for 8pm, got there early and were told to come back at 8 then didn't get seated until 815. Got the bang bang chicken and fish cakes for starters are passable, and we weren't served our wine until the mains came but boy the mains rocked - seafood platter overflowing with mussels and salmon, surf and turf cooked beautifully and beef cheeks melted in your mouth. The food made up for the service, which was strained I understand as it was particularly busy. Would recommend this or their sister restaurant Sea Breezes if you like your seafood

Amazing seafood! Steamed mussels were beyond compare; delightful. Wife had the Venison burger and rates it 5-stars. Dessert was equally great; mango cheesecake, just wish there was more! Staff were very attentive, checking on us regularly, even with a fully booked restaurant and people waiting to get in. Cannot rate this place any higher, get it booked for dinner tonight!
