Deli In The Square in Highland

Really fantastic little place in the village. Varied, delicious and affordable menu options, and great drinks selection. Attentive, efficient and really friendly staff. Definitely a much better alternative than the big hotels in the area. 10/10 recommended!

Absolutely lovely experience, wide variety of freshly prepared foods with friendly service. Great to eat inside, outside (weather permitting) or takeaway. Clearly popular with locals and tourists alike which tells you all you need to know! Prime location in Strathpeffer in the market Square which means you have parking nearby and can watch people coming and going.

Lovely setting and really good food. A few miles off the main road but well worth the diversion. Really nice staff. Village well worth a visit and steeped in history.

Sadly a very poor experience and almost identical to an earlier reviewer. My daughter and I arrived early for an event at the Pavilion opposite the Deli Cafe. We decided to have a quick coffee and a bun at the Deli. The Deli appeared devoid of customers inside and out.We were immediately told that we could not be served because they "Had bookings". When we explained that we only intended to stop long enough to enjoy a hot drink after travelling, the assustant consulted her boss who gave the same negative response.This was a surreal experience from an establishment that should be driven by high customer service and values. We felt very unwelcome and decided that it was not appropriate to give them even take-away business and we left.Looking across 45 minutes later, while outside the Pavilion, we could see that nothing appeared to have changed at the Deli and it still looked deserted.Having previously enjoyed visits to the Museum Cafe at Strathpeffer station, where the food was excellent and the service from the young staff exemplary. It is very sad to have had such a negative experience in beautiful Strathpeffer.

Had a very tasty veg lasagne for dinner. Booking advised. Luckily we had because our hotel weren't doing restaurant service at short notice.

Delicious food, especially the plum tart and side salads. Lovely people. So many choices for lunch on the menu and in the store for takeaway.

Food was OK, expensive for what it was. Staff are lovely but would be handy to have a sign telling ppl if you order at counter or table service. It's table service BTW if you plan on going.

Strathpeffer now has a good choice of cafes from outdoor, takeaway to sit in. A grey day in December we chose sit in at the Deli. Soya latte was excellent and cakes/tarts came hot or cold with/without custard, cream, ice cream.Carrot cake didn’t look homemade, plum tart with crumble topping was very tasty.Hot tap in toilet not working but otherwise facilities were fine.The deli shop looked well stocked with loads of delicious stuff. We will return again sometime.

Had delicious pizza's and beer here. Friendly staff who managed to get us seated even though it was quite busy. Service was fast but the wait times for pizza were quite long because of the demand. It was a lovely evening though and we didn't mind the wait. We had the Happy Chappy IPA and a veg pizza and a spicy chicken pizza for my fiancé. All were very tasty! Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
