Fantastic wee shop and cafe in Elgol. It was closed when we arrived but we set up camp right beside it on a lovely grassy bank. Had our supper on the picnic tables which were very conveniently located for us, and got a really strong signal from the shop WiFi which the owner Hermione had very helpfully left on for us to use that night. When she arrived early the next day she greeted us with a roll of her eyes and shaking of her head, which I think is a Highland thing, meaning that she was pleased to see us and grateful that we'd chosen this site on which to camp. Then she very helpfully came out with a bucket of water to put out a campfire (which we didn't have, it was a disposable BBQ). We left no trace of our visit.

If you do nothing else whlie on the Isle of Skye, go to the Elgol Shop - for the fabulous views, the great hospitality and the deilsh lobster rolls, homemade cupcakes and coffee. Hermione is wonderful and her hospitality and care is delightful. She also spent some time chatting to us about the local area and what there was to see around that part of Elgol. We were on our way to Camasunary and she gave us great pointers to keep us safe, warm, and on time. Would definitely visit again!

Amazing wee shop!! Friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the area, great selection of snacks, groceries, and crafts, and great hot drinks! As some other reviews have mentioned the food and drinks approach gourmet level which was a surprise for such a small and remote little shop without much competition. We got some coffee which was excellent and some "angel cakes" from their selection of baked goods which my boyfriend and I were raving about - they were some of the best baking I've ever had!! I hope to come back to the Elgol Shop soon :)

Lovely staff and really nice souvenirs, many of them made or designed by the owner too. Also a good stop for basic food supplies and toilets. Highland Council seems to have pulled funding for the public toilets so make sure to give this local business and the surrounding facilities your support if you visit the area!

The food, drink and service from the Elgol Shop is fantastic. Knowledgeable and friendly staff set in the most beautiful settings in all of Scotland. Try the Elgolian

Soup was very nice (carrot and coriander) and the girls on staff were good to us. Seating a little cramped but that was more indicative of the small shop. Great brownies too. The shop looked like it had everything you'd want in a remote shop, really. Fairly well stocked and not too expensive. A good find.

Lovely place to pass an hour. Lady who owns it is fab, little bit nuts just like me. Interesting souvenirs, bit different from the usual stuff. Good coffee, excellent cake. Thanks

The food here is far better than it has any right to be given the lack of competiton; I highly recommend it. Seriously, everything we had was delicious. They are only open for lunch, and options are limited to one soup of the day, baked goods, a few sandwiches, and coffee. The soup of the day when we went was courgette (zuchinni) soup, which was excellent. We also had two lattes and a lice of lemon cake while there. The lattes were properly prepared, at the right temperature and with the correct ratio of milk to espresso. The cake was excellent also. The scone we took with us for later was similarly spot on; both moist and flavorful.Oh, and their souvenirs are nice too.

One stop shop serving very simple sandwiches and (tinned) soups and excellent shortbread. This is certainly not a destination, but if you’re lucky enough to get good weather then it’s a fine place to stop for a coffee.
