Garrison West in Highland

A winner across the board. Very attentive and friendly staff. Every dish was very good to excellent, especially the scallop starter and halibut main. The recommended wine was excellent. There was a loss of gas the night we were there, so things slowed down for a bit, but nobody seemed botherd and the staff cruised through the minor crisis with pleasantry. Definitely recommend.

I visited for William this week, and on the last day our whole group decided to dine out, this being the place we decided to go. I was a bit sad that I missed the normal menu, as they only had their Valentine’s Day set menu available over this weekend, but as soon as the starter arrived, my disappointment vanished. The food was magnificent, very very rich in flavour, while the staff were also very accommodating with the 1 year old infant that attended too, even if he was not on his best behaviour as he’s teething and was feeling fairly sick. I suppose if I had to find a negative it would be that their named beer was really to my liking, it I suppose I made the mistake of having beer with fish. I’m certainly looking forward to visiting again in the future.

1st time visiting here due to the Crannog being closed for winter but very happy with the whole experience. The food was amazing which reflected that the restuarant was full all evening. Fresh delicious food and an excellent selection of drinks on offer. Sat by the wood burner when we finished eating drinking wine. A highly reccomended eaterie.

Just the place for our lunch. Lovely interior, pleasant background music & good food & service. I enjoyed a creamy seafood tagliatelle & my wife had the minute steak sandwich. Very tasty.

Nice pub/Bistrot with amazing food and great atmosphere. Would've given it 5 stars but my friend was overcharged for his main despite it being advertised as £2 cheaper. The food and service apart from this was outstanding. The haggis and the whisky sauce served with the Balmoral Chicken being particularly delicious.

Let's start with the positives. The food was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend the smoked haddock chowder for starter. It is also a very nicely decorated pub with good staff and very fast service (maybe even too fast). However the reason I cannot give it 5 stars is due to the special that I got, baked cod, was clearly advertised on the board as £15. However when it came to paying the bill claimed it was £17. When I mentioned this to the waiter (a different one to the very nice woman who had served us previously) he admitted the board did say it was £15 but insisted I still pay the extra £2 as that was the price on the system. Due to this slight misadvratising of prices I am unable to give the full 5 stars that the food and the main server deserves.
