Hidden Gem in Highland

Just had lunch aboard the Highland Lassie, which is docked at top end of Dochgarroch. We have cruised the Caley canal 5 times before this visit, but this is the first time we have dined at this beautiful setting. I can't thank hosts Gus and Gabby enough for looking after us so thoroughly. What an absolute pleasure, and I cannot recommend this establishment highly enough. Food is fantastic ,matched by the service ,even the crockery is fab.An honoured to be aboard.

What a lovely end to our holiday! We had a fabulous family lunch on this beautiful boat- you can tell there has been such care put in to its restoration. Thanks - a really lovely experience!

We chose to stay on the Highland Lassis to mark the end of a busy few days travelling around Edinburgh and to start our tour around the Highlands. It was the perfect place to unwind and regain energy for the rest of our trip. The cabins were gorgeous and provided a great view over the canal and nearby scenery. Gaby and Gus were fantastic hosts, very welcoming and attentive to all of the detail to ensure you had an easy and plaisent stay. If you are staying, I would thoroughly recommend eating on the boat, as from experience and conversations on board It is obvious that Gaby has a passion for good food and ensures this is reflected on the dishes she cooks and serves to you. What a wonderful experience on a lovingly redesigned fishing vessel in a beautiful and tranquil location. Gaby and Gus are such lovely hosts who couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable.The cabins are delightful and comparable to any top hotel and with great showers.The Captain's Table dining was unique for us, meeting new people to share the excellent fare and travelling experiences.We will most definitely return.

This was a birthday treat by my wife on our trip am back from the North Coast 500, I am still lost for words now. The boat is beautiful and it lovely to be apart of someone’s dream that they have put so much time and effort in to. We had a lovely breakfast and wish we had stayed for dinner the night previously.The rooms were spectacular and had the best shower I have ever been in, we had stayed in hotels all week around Scotland and this was certainly the best. Words don’t describe how amazing it was. The hosts Gus and Gaby were lovely and so passionate. I enjoyed spending time talking to Gus about the boat and the area. I can’t wait to come back.

The most magical experience. The owners angus and gaby are also the nicest people ever. They are so accomdating. We never booked in for dinner at the restaurants the night we were staying but they managed to fit us in and made a phenomenal scallop dish to start and steaks for mains which were unbelievable. One of the best ive had. The bedroom and en suite were so lovely and clean. And the balcony was stunning at sunset. 100% recommended if you are staying in Inverness.

Wonderful local cafe, with lots of outdoor space and dog friendly. Right at the end of the canal that offers a beautiful walk. All flat surfaces so suitable for families with prams or wheelchairs and also push bikes. We had a fudge cheesecake and it was amazing. You can also purchased hot cooked, homemade meals either to sit in or take away.

Had a fantastic meal for four recently. The food was absolutely first class and the service equally as good. I can't recommend the Highland Lassie highly enough. An experience not to be missed.

Excellent food, well presented, in a lovely wooden cabin with leather seats. We were the only ones there that night but no rush, let them know you are ready for the next course we had 3 good sized portions. Shown the cabins you can stay on a DDB basis they were amazing. Nice couple and personnel cooking, cannot get any better. Advise booking ahead as they send you a menu to choose before hand.
