Pricy for what you get, restaurant ok but seems to have staff problems, portions vary from trip to trip?

If your going to charge nearly £6.00 for a plate of soup make sure you serve what it says on your menu. Menu states soup with bread & a trio of toppings for the soup. Just visited and was served two jars of toppings, and very sparse at that !! Defo not worth the money.

I go here once a week. I was in for lunch & ordered soup for my elderly aunt it was served on a wooden board ☹️ The worst thing for germs & bacteria especially when using it time & time again for cutting a bread roll. I had a tuna & cucumber sandwich which was awful. Massive chunks of cucumber & tasteless which was definitely not worth £6.95 what a Rip OffVery disappointed 😔

It is almost 2 years since I last visited the shop, cafe and outside garden centre. Was disappointed to see that the crafting and hobbies section are gone. However, all other shopping areas are well stocked and a great choice of plants and pots in the outside area.Biggest disappointment is the cafe. I ordered a toasted teacake and a pot of tea. The teacake was very unappetising. Rock hard, lukewarm and you could count the fruit in it.... definitely not worth £2.95. I suggest that you change your supplier. Considering you have such a limited menu on order what you do offer should be a better standard.Won't be recommending your cafe on today's experience.Must try harder!!!!!RegardsL. James

As soon as you enter, there a 3 singing reindeer,as many adults watching it as children. The shop is like a Christmas wonderland. Beautiful displays, smells and a mega amount of every kind of gifts you could want.Staff very efficient, got queues attended to speedily. Will be returning before Christmas Day.Well done.

Nice selection of flowers and extremely helpful staff. I asked what compost they use for flytraps and they actualy went to check it for me! I love carnivorous plants and most places sell them in generic gardening compost. Howdens have special substrate for them and actualy know how to trest them properly, which was extremely pleasant surprise for me. Centre also have nice selection of gift items, aroma candles/sticks, clothing and cafe inside. :)

Lovely garden centre, has good quality plants at good prices, lots of tools, gardening sundries, quality gifts and home wares too. Restaurant was good, fish and chips were fresh and very tasty, quiche was amazing too. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Lots of lovely stuff but unfortunately a large portion of garden items are priced out of the reach of Mr & Mrs average. Some mid to lower prices would be nice. Received a large value of vouchers in October and have been unable to spend as nothing less than 4 times the value in stock I might like to buy

This is an excellent garden centre with a very good selection of everything and anything to do with the garden. They also have an extensive outdoor range of flowers, plants, pots etc. There also is a good range of household items and a bery good cafe all under one roof. It is easily accessible with a wheelchair inside and outside the store.
