Was quite disappointed after many of the positive reviews. Seated in a dark anteroom directly in a passageway in front of a busy toilet and had multiple errors in our order and oxidized wine with dinner. Would not personally recommend

Had a birthday meal here for 14. Meal was lovely. Value for money. Staff were very good. Would definitely return.

We had been traveling all day and they were the seventh place we tried to find a meal. They were busy but accommodated us and the food was exceptional. Pork belly appetizer and tempura prawns were great. Monk fish and mussels were also great. Crepe dessert finished things off. Thanks for hosting 4 appreciative Americans!!

This rating is not for the food as my husband and I did not eat here. We had a reservation which was made about a month in advance. Upon arriving we were lead to a table in the very back of the restaurant in a dark corner facing a doorway. Walking through the restaurant we saw there were many deuces open and asked if we could be moved. The “manager” who was extremely rude gave us some lame excuse as to why we had to sit at that particular table. We decided to take our business else where. We will pass our experience on to the Concierge at our hotel as well. We also ended up at a wonderful small family run restaurant with wonderful food called Mc Bain’s. So I guess I should thank Cafe One for that.

An excellent meal served by really friendly and efficient staff. I splashed out starting with Chicken liver pate, lamb for main and finishing with sticky toffee pudding. To drink a couple of beers (St Mungo) and a coffee.I ate early wautng for the Sleeper train and the restaurant filled up as the evening went on. The owner came round to check all was well and was appropriately convivial. I liked the open kitchen too, offering something to watch as I was dining alone.Highly recommended.

Fantastic restaurant, really great menu and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Had the spicy pork belly to start and the fillet steak for main, both dishes we top notch, what a lovely little gem of a restaurant and really great value prices for what you get too.

Good food, steak was well prepared, and the sides were nice. Good cheesecake too. Friendly service. The place looks tiny from the outside, but it's actually huge, and was fully packed in the evening, so do book a day or two ahead of time.Coffee could be much better, though.
