Dog friendly, good rooms and great food. The French toast at breakfast is hard to beat. I’ve even written to them asking where they get their maple syrup. Dinner was very very good.Every time we ate outside the Lime Tree we regretted it. The food and service here is so good that we gave up at another restaurant nearby and came back just for dessert.

Perfect stay. We loved the restaurant, the food both for dinner and breakfast was delicious. The staff was really amazing and made sure we had a good time. We are looking forward to coming back!

Food was superb. Very small restaurant, quiet in the winter but would be a great spot to dine and watching sunsets in the warmer months.

A great little hotel with friendly staff, nice rooms, cosy spaces and good food. Very dog and family friendly too. Can't wait to be back.

An excellent restaurant with a good local menu. It was wonderful to browse the art gallery after dinner. Highly recommend.

Food was excellent but wine well overpriced. Lacked atmosphere.... tables close to others so felt you had to talk quietly to avoid people listening in to your conversation. Waitress we had was not very good.... dropped several items at our table, didn't know what "an ealdhain" restaurant meant when we asked. Shame as the food was delicious

Dog friendly. We had breakfast here with our dog, they have tables setup in a separate area that is dog friendly. Breakfast was good and service was great.

Had a 2-night stay here and it was ok. The bedroom was small and in need of a refurb, the double bed was tiny and uncomfortable. However, the bathroom has been recently renovated and was clean, modern, and had a great shower. The only downside was that every time you used the shower you were flooding the bathroom because the shower screen was inadequate. We dined in the restaurant and had a decent but very overpriced meal. The use of the onsite carparking is free and very welcome.

My family ate here this evening. If you are looking for a lower prices huge plateful of pub grub, this is perhaps not the place for you. If, however, you are looking for excellent staff with top notch tableside manner, beautifully presented well cooked high quality food and an intimate, warm setting then this is certainly worth a visit. We all had the lamb, which I must say was divine - three empty plates were handed back. We followed this with a selection from the desert menu, which again were absolutely stellar. My only slight complaint, if one could call it that, was that my cheese board (while tasty and full of fantastic cheeses) did contain a hard cheese which had rather more rind than I would have liked and was very much on the hard side of "hard". The wine choices most suitable, and although I would liked to have rounded the evening off with a dram and a coffee, our two year old decided she wanted to move on. Which brings me neatly to my final point...The staff were superb with our youngest daughter. Usually better house trained, she chose this particular evening to go feral. The staff were wonderfully patient, engaged with her and made light of her beginning to create. On top of that, my 9 year old son was treated like an adult, was taken seriously, his questions answered and at no point did the staff look to me to confirm his menu choices.I can only apologise to the other guests who may have been a little disturbed by our two year olds squeals of both delight and disdain, but rest assured she enjoyed her pate and very much enjoyed her desert (or rather, the mouthfuls she stole from our plates!). Next time we visit, it will be a later booking for just the two of us.

Food was just ok nothing special. Poor presentation and flavour. Wine was expensive and awful. Paid less a few days ago at a michelin starred restaurant for wine that was far superior. Would not recommend or return.
