Links House at Royal Dornoch in Highland

By far the best restaurant in the area. Expensive but worth every penny for a special occasion

Lovely afternoon tea today at Links House . Superb interior and wonderful friendly staff. Our waitress was particularly good.Food was delicious and very generous.We will definitely be back for dinner at some point :) Thankyou !

This is an extremely nice hotel to stay at. Hotel staff very friendly and knowledgeable on both wine and food and what goes with what. Room was very clean and well decorated and furnished. Bathroom with large bath and heated floor was a real luxury. Highly recommended and wished we had stayed longer. Views from the beach are something else.

Didn’t stay at the hotel but ate at the restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing. I am vegan and gluten free and although we only called an hour in advance, the head chef was able to cater for me and cooked some of the best food I have ever tasted. My partner and I both went for the taster menu which was fairly priced for the amount of courses and the excellent quality of service. The staff were all brilliant, especially the maitre’d and the head chef . The extensive wine list also included some delicious wines. After spending 5 days on the NC500 self catered, it was so nice to splash out on some fine dining and this place didn’t disappoint.

We enjoyed an excellent dining experience at Mara. Top quality cooking and service. (The only off note was the unnecessary kitsch soundtrack of Celtic music.)

My Wife and I stayed here whilst on a trip around Scotland for our Honeymoon and I have to say it was absolutely superb. The Hotel has a very decedent feel feel to the place our room was spacious with a lovely comfy bed and the staff were extremely helpful. We had the 'Taster Menu, with the wine flight' which was probably the best meal we had had on our trip, even topping some of the well known top restaurants we have tried around the country (top marks the the chef and the team). with a fabulous looking Golf course next door if that's your game we definitely highly recommend.

Tastefully renovated / updated boutique hotel with excellent restaurant (Mara) serving high quality food. Helpful, cheerful staff who are interested in their job. Well worth the expense!

My wife and I, along with two good friends,felt privileged to have shared a fantastic lunch at the Mara restaurant on the 2nd May this year. The food was absolutely fabulous and the taste experiences wonderful. The Chef and the team in the restaurant were all wonderful. Looking forward to going back again

We had a delicious afternoon tea . The waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. My only niggle is that they serve 'Afternoon Tea' between 12:30 (?) And 2:30pm....

I spent a memorable evening at Links House enjoying a delicious meal with friends.Everything we encountered reflected the quality and attention to detail the owners have clearly invested in.There was a warm welcome from the manager ably assisted by attentive and personable staff. The range of dishes was sufficient to keep all of our party happy whilst the flavours were universally praised. We understood a new chef had been appointed and he clearly has had excellent training.Even as an occasional golfer I noticed the location could hardly be more perfect as you are able to observe the first tee at Royal Dornoch Golf Club from where we were dining.We will be back..
