Let's start by saying that I thought the food was really good. I had the Venison burger and it was delicious and tasted like a quality product.I just can't whole heartedly recommended the place though.The staff were really friendly, but I kinda felt like that they were waiting on us leaving so the party could start.I get that it's a bar rather than a restaurant but having fellow patrons signing along with the songs at half six, didn't lead to a relaxing experience.

We were treated so rudely by one of the staff we literally had to just walk out.4 of us popped in last Thursday late afternoon and asked for some cocktails. For reference we've been in there many many times over the years and drank cocktails there. After we were very abruptly declined I asked if there had been a change as we'd been in loads before and been served them. The staff member tried to tell me I had not.At that point the other guy on the bar, another young gentleman, possibly European said that he was happy to make them. But the first guy had an attitude about that too.I said it wasn't a big deal and we could just have other drinks, we had specifically asked for a cocktail as they had been good in the past thats all. My attempt to smooth things over got even more comments and attitude from the staff member.The level combativeness of the young Scottish staff member was unlike any treatment Ive ever received in a venue. It was so bad I genuinely thought he was trying to start a fight with me. And since it was a mixed group I wasn't going to let him speak to me or my partner like that. Let alone give him my money.If you're in town looking for drinks or food Id avoid here and instead go to Cheese & Tomatin, or The Balavoulin. Both great!And if you're the owner of Mambos, that guy is going to ruin your business.

Usually go here every time we visit aviemore and have the best time and enjoy some great drinks but this time and the last time was met with the worst reception. One specific staff member was very combative initially, we politely asked for espresso martinis and were abruptly told they don’t serve them despite having them for years in the past. Another staff member very kindly offered to make them and was cut of by said staff member who continually proclaimed “they are not on the menu”. Said staff member was then very rude and approached us loudly stating in response to my partner explaining we’ve had them in the past and asking if they could accommodate “ you’ve no had them here” and then “ when did you last have them here then? Cause you’ve no had them this year” . Was not welcoming and very rude. Extremely off putting and won’t be back on account of the staff member who was extremely combative and rude, not sure if he was the manner but his hospitality skills need serious work. To the staff member; there was no need for that approach, attitude or tone of voice. You were attempting to argue with us for simply stating we had, had them in the past. It’s a bar, you sell drinks. All you had to say was respectfully guys we don’t do them anymore sorry. End off. No need to be so aggressive. FYI, the staff member was Scottish younger and with short blonde hair working today around this time. I’ll be dropping by to speak to management.

Over priced £6.35 for hot chocolate and a mass manufactured biscuit staff stood around chatting instead of serving me. Go to Cobbs cafe next door cheaper and fresh bake at reasonable prices hot chocolate £1.60 fresh bake biscuits for £1 friendly and helpful staff.

Great place for lunch, food was delicious, massive portions and great value for money. Extremely helpful and friendly staff with fantastic customer service!!

Not what it used to be. Not incredibly lively at all. Music would be good. Food took quite a while & was hot/worth it when it arrived.Selection of drinks is fine. Needs a bit more character adding in to the place.

amazing staff, great selection of drinks, top class music, shots’ fridge out of this world, dog friendly, great outdoor seating. nice surprise - pool was free on a Wednesday. Highly recommend. It’s open later then google hours says. Best place in the Highlands.

The hot chocolate and the coffee were really good, the chicken burger was nice but while the portions are a decent size the price is steep for the food you get. Wouldn't recommend the chicken loaded fries personally as they didn't agree with me.The lad that served us yesterday was an absolute grafter. Fair play to him.

Great atmosphere and music. Great cocktails. Staff good fun , friendly and accommodating

Loved this place, Staff friendly and helpful, Really good food and decent portions, enjoyed a game of connect 4 while waiting for food, Pool table and best of all, Hop House 13 on tap, will return on my next visit to Aviemore
