Very good quality food, not cheap but excellent value. Dog friendly in bar. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere.

Lovely shower and bedroom, attractive dining room, nice selection of local bottled beers, fabulous veggie breakfast, friendly staff. If you like Victorian villas with character this is a splendid spot. Really lovely area too, beautiful flower meadows by the river, interesting hill walks, and near enough to the Cairngorms to get some big mountain walks in.

Only had a meal. Was asked if pub area would be ok as restaurant was full. What a dull area, was not pleasant at all. Chicken pakora was dry and batter was rock solid. Would compare it to an Iceland buy. Not good and overpriced. 3 and a half pieces for £7. Was going to order the curry but waitress did not know what kind of curry it was. Answer back from chef was its not really an Indian curry, its a kind of home made curry so opted for steak pie which was nice but was very salty. Chips were frozen but veg was nice. Whole meal reminded me of pub chain quality with the exception of pub chain cost.

We were looking for somewhere for a lunch but was dog friendly. We tried here on the off chance and what a stroke of luck. The staff were very friendly as was the chef who asked if we had enjoyed the food. We had soup and a pudding and both were excellent. Would make a point of going back

Lovely few days away. Stayed here in one of the small clean self catering cabins behind hotel. Ideal for my 9yr old son and i. Up , showered, pack lunches made and out for day. Staff lovely as is food.

Have just returned from a very enjoyable 2 day break. The hotel is an elegant Victorian house. The food is gorgeous and well presented served in a lovely stylish dining room by friendly staff. The bedroom was tastefully decorated with a very comfortable bed with lovely smelling linen. A warm welcome from hosts Peter and Robert who recommended a visit to the Highland Folk Museum. Just a pleasant 30 minute walk from the hotel where you could easily spend a lovely afternoon. Brilliant hotel.
