Merchant Bar in Highland

We were made extremely welcomed and looked after by this barman (a Serbian).  He also recognised from where we live. Although being a Saturday evening and booking is required (which we didn't place a reservation) the barman still managed to find us a table. I had pasta with wild mushroom and chestnut cream was absolutely delicious. I would come here to eat when in Portree friendly staff and service with a smile. Highly recommended.

Food and service was excellent. I'm assuming due to covid restrictions there are limited tables. We booked for a table online, 5pm was the latest we could get, we could only eat in the bar area because we had a dog with us which was not a problem, the bar area is lovely. When a table came free in the bar area, staff would let people in for a drink only and were told how long they could occupy the table for. Tables fully cleaned etc following covid restrictions.Would fully recommend this place. Book in advance.Full covid

Nice place with great choice of local beers, gins and whisky...However, half hearted service that seems staple for Portree. We asked if there was a table free and were told "no". We asked if there might be one free soon and we were told "no". Perhaps you folks could be more helpful and take our number or book us in for an hour ahead? Nope, just sully service...

Nice place, delicious food and great customer service. Our waiter guided us through the menu and helped to choose allergy friendly options. Chef even did some changes to our dishes to avoid allergens even though we didn't even ask for it. We had a really nice experience.

Lovely bar in the Bosville hotel. Good selection of craft allies, gins, and whisky. Service is quick and friendly. They're taking good covid precautions, and seem very sensible. Food was delicious.

Cool little pub at the top of the hill near the city center. Great tap list, and whisky and gin selection and friendly bar tenders to help you decide. Prices were very fair, and we actually came back here twice during our time in Portree.

One of the biggest choices of whiskies on Skye Island. From Speysides to Highlands whiskies and obviously all the Taliskers, this is a very cozy place to spend the evening after dinner at Dulse & Brose. Both the restaurant and and the bar are located in the same house. The whisky menu is one of the most impressives I have seen. So whether you want something smoky or spicy or light, you will definitely find your pair. The waiter is very nice and helpful.And give a try to a Misty Isle gin or Harris gin with cucumber tonic.

Quiet little pub. Large variety of hard liquor. Connected to restaurant. Free WiFi. Great view from top of hill looking into town.
