Easy to find and good sized car park. Building looks very nice from the outside, if a little dated inside.Upon entering, it was dead silent and we were greater by a nice smiling woman who showed us in but informed us it was so quiet that we wouldn't be getting sat in the dining room but rather the bar area which was disappointing as we were out for a special occasion dinner. There was only one other couple sat in the bar area when we entered and it was, again, dead silent and no atmosphere at all. TV with football was playing quietly in the background but no music and no other chat made it awkward to make conversation. When I approached the front desk to ask where the toilets were, another lady from the one who greeted us was sat there with headphones in watching a movie who did not hear me ask twice where they were before she removed them.We had two pizzas which were nice enough but halfway through eating them my partner found a long black hair baked into the dough... We immediately stopped eating and when the original woman came back to ask us how our meal was we informed her of the hair. We received a single apology and nothing more.We paid and promptly left. Overall, very very disappointing.

Clearly expected to be out all day in depth of winter as the heat is timed to go off at 9 am until after 3-4 pm with snow outside.. food expensive and average. However, comfortable, clean, spacious rooms and the helpful staff cheer the place up.

The room was big and clean, which was nice, decent views. Bar is open lateThe breakfast experience was absolutely terrible. We booked to include breakfast because they advertise a veggie or vegan breakfast only to be told we can have tomatoes and toast (the price is £16 a head, imagine just walking in off the street for that)My husband ordered scrambled eggs, we waited 35 minutes, literally 35 minutes, we had to make our own toast though so I’m not sure what took that long? We were infront of a window into the next room and our waitress was on her phone using like Snapchat filters or something?Really odd, the eggs then arrived clearly had been microwaved to oblivion then sat under a heat lamp or something, just got up and left. You have no right to charge such high amounts for terrible quality food + service, I’d almost understand if it was the best eggs he’d ever had using high quality produce but you’re not making anything yourself. The dinner menu is also insanely priced.Rooms are good but avoid all food, the prices + quality are literally a joke.

A good night's sleep, warm and comfortable room, friendly staff and the hotel food was great. I'd happily stay again.

Friendly staff, good food, warm rooms and a comfy bed you don't need alot more when working away from home. Would stay there again next time I am in the area.

Staff really great and very attentive. Hotel is a bit expensive as is dinner but food was quite acceptable. Stayed there years ago which means I am comparing with when the hotel was lively and IMO better value for money. But I like it.

Dated and tired old hotel which is long overdue a refurbishment. Food was mediocre and overpriced. £11.50 for a basic small prawn cocktail! Still tape on carpets marking off ta le spaces after covid...absolute joke. Once good in its day 30 years ago but needs investment now.

First off staff were brilliant and very helpful but working away from home I only ask for three things decent shower, WiFi and decent food!!!! shower was a dribble no WiFi in rooms and food was over priced if it was good so really really over priced as it was terrible

I was looking forward to having lunch here but right from when i phoned to book a table i knew it was going to be DISASTEROUS ! I called and someone answered but never spoke then hung up on me when I spoke ! Why did i phone again ?? Anyway we got there and we ordered our food. We knew the waitress and she is very nice and helpful. We waited and waited and waited some more for our lunch... it took well over 30mins for it to finally appear. OMGOODNESS! it looked awful. We had ordered roast beef with roast potatoes and veg. The Yorkshire puddings looked as though they were burned, and were so soggy, it was beyond belief. The gravy was so thin that it was sèe through with bits of hard stuff through it. The Potatoes and the carrots and broccoli were so undercooked i think they were just picked from the ground, my teeth still havent got over how hard the veg was! Then there was the roast beef, covered in that horrible gravy but the beef itself was rather tasty, the only thing wrong with it was that it was very very luke warm, same as all the food. YUCK! While waiting for our lunch a couple who had came in about 10mins after us, had a conversation together about how they had waited too long for their lunch to be delivered so they just got up, put on their coats and left. Oh i wish i had the balls to do the same!! I will not be back again, i felt pretty bad for the waitress we knew but after my wife paid for her meal they had the cheek to add a service charge to the bill without informing us about it in advance. Needless to say... i removed the cash i had left on the table and put it back in my waller. One terribly run hotel that needs new owners or someone to get it sorted😠
