Lovely stay. The staff are very helpful and the room was cosy and spacious, the food in the restaurant was good. Breakfast was good but a bit pricey. Right next to the canal ( Neptune's Staircase) which we could see from the bedroom window great view of Ben Nevis too.

Lovely place to stop for coffee / tea and cake or a full meal in their restaurant.Great views of the canal and Neptune's Staircase with 7 locks, and 2 swing bridges. (Road and train swing bridge.Plus famous steam train passing nearby.Beautiful views of Ben Nevis and the mountains.Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Only stayed 2 nights. Found the staff very friendly but wouldn't class it as 4star our room was very tired and needs some painting and carpet cleaned. The food in the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced. Didn't have breakfast as £15 per person onto the cost of the room made it extremely expensive.Saying that we would stay there again as through the night no noise.

Excellent service under pressure from short staff. Room spacious and comfortable. All meals well presented and delicious. Beautifully situated beside Neptune's Staircase with lovely views. Look forward to another visit.

Restaurant and bar service awful - probably not enough staff on at the time to be fair, but ones who were there seemed unable to cope with basic service. Took 20 minutes for just 3 people to be served at the back bar. Waited 10 minutes in the restaurant just to be able to see a menu and then when we returned for a table we were told it was fully booked, despite lots of empty tables. Went to the Lochy instead just down the road , and it was fantastic.

Nice place and nice stay food wholesome. Staff efficientAlthough it says disabled access and facilities this is very restricted in our experience. There is no lift in the hotel which means most of the rooms are inaccessible which was disappointing for us. When you read the room description on the Web site it does say disabled access/facilities against all rooms only when you read deeper into the Web site do you realise that this is not the case for the majority of rooms. We booked on the phone and completed on line, as requested, a superior twin and did state in both communications "disabled access but not necessarily facilities required " the room was inaccessible. They did however give us a family room in the basement but this also had steps although less than the original room booked therefore not the views of Neptune's staircase we expected the window in the room was above head height therefore only a view of the tow path above. If the room we booked had, had disabled access as requested the star rating would have been higher this could have been a disaster for some disabled people fortunately we were able to manage the five stairs with difficulty and effort.

We ate in the bistro early evening. Staff are very friendly and the food was great. There is a good view of the staircase if you can get a table outside or near the windows as well. Plenty of car park spaces and accessible also. Been here year on year and it doesn't disappoint. Look forward to coming back again.

This little hotel is an amazing experience. The staff are beyond friendly, the manager Cathy is so nice and helpful. She personally helped my brother and I in jig time. Bar staff were lovely and the sleep was amazing. If I didn't have an alarm set I'd have slept on for sure.Canny beat a hotel with those views of the canal and Nevis.Thank you for a pleasant stay, be seeing you soon.
