Portland Hotel Restaurant in Highland

Lovely step back in time to 100% top notch hospitality. Comfortable and clean accommodations, delicious breakfast and dinner options and drinks. Staff was beyond helpful and friendly.

Lovely staff, couldn't have been more helpful, lovely room comfortable bed. Food was excellent. Would recomend this hotel to anyone.

Really nice hotel situated in Lybster. We had a family room which was nice , bathrooms were recently done and the beds were nice and comfy. The service, food and breakfast was excellent . If your on the NC500 definitely would recommend a stop over if you want a comfy night sleep and great food .

This hotel was amazing! It was probably the best hotel my family and I stayed in while we were in Scotland. The beds were really comfortable and the breakfast and dinner were tasty. The prices were also good considering the quality of the accommodations.

Four of us called in for dinner this evening. Made very welcome considering we hadn’t reserved a table and they were busy. Food was excellent and service (Chloe and Chris) was superb. All in all, a very lovely evening.

On our trip, we stayed here and were delighted. The food was delicious and fresh. Five stars, would recommend to anyone.

A real gem in a location that really is under valued and in need of more visitors. The hotel has so much character and really is a fine example of an old style hotel with beautiful decor. The staff are superb and so friendly. The hotel can easily accommodate bus parties as well. It's situated at the top end of Lybster near the crossroads of the A99. The menu is decent and although the prices might be a little on the dearer side it isn't enough to spoil the stay. I'm not sure when I'll be in Lybster again but I would definitely recommend here.

I’ve stayed in the Portland arms on a couple of occasions 2019 & April 2022. Everything I would expect from a independent rural hotel, clean rooms, good breakfast and excellent highland hospitality. Thanks to Amy and team for a wonderful couple of days in Caithness

Visited the restaurant with my family recently. The food was great and I couldn't fault the service. Our waiter was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice
