Red Skye Restaurant in Highland

Great visit on a Thursday night. Just grabbed a quick fish and chips and scallops on a way to the end of the island. Both dishes were well cooked and nicely seasoned. It was pretty quite afternoon so we could hear the scallops sizzling from the kitchen together with yummiiiie smell coming out. 🤗 the lady serving us was nice and polite.

Had the squat lobster, was lovely! My husband had a build your own burger which he loved. We both had the sticky toffee pudding and it was lovely! Friendly and great service! Book in advance if you would like a table

Lovely local restaurant with very friendly service. Food worthy of a five star establishment with a relaxed atmosphere. Reasonably priced for Skye and we would thoroughly recommend it. Make sure to book though as it is popular!

A lovely meal this evening, restaurant was busy but front of house staff were very kind and attentive. Lovely rosata Rose on the wine list. Started with the haggis bonbons with a whisky cream sauce, rocket and red onion chutney (pictured). This was really delicious. My wife started with a lovely soup and homemade bread. Next we both had the salmon with chorizo, spinach and sundried tomatoes which was a real treat. All simple ingredients but fresh and local and cooked with real passion thank you to the chefs. Thanks again for a lovely evening. Only constructive feedback would be a window open for some ventilation - it was hot inside and tables are fairly close with the space but having said that in the era of covid we did feels safe.

We felt very welcome. Lovely food and great hosting! Will definitely come back next time. We had the spicy carrot soup, black pudding bonbons, mussels, chocolate mousse and sticky toffee pudding. All delicious!

Despite covid restrictions, we were able to get a table booking on the same evening, which may have been luck.This lovely little restaurant goes for quality over having an extensive menu and the quality, presentation and service was excellent on all counts.So good in fact that I couldn't help taking a couple of photos of our starters, but was too eager to tuck in to my main course (salmon) to waste time taking a photo of that! My partner had the mussels as a main and they were the best I have ever eaten. Literally melted in your mouth.The black puddling starter and the Chanterelle mushroom starter were as delicious as they looked.Service was great as well.Payment is cash or PayPal only, but we were told that before we accepted our booking.

Stopped off on the way to Portree and had a delightful wild mushroom risotto followed by a lovely sticky toffee pudding. The Red Skye Restaurant is a lovely little restaurant serving simple but delicious meals.

Probably the worst meal I've had on the Isle of Skye, I'm really not sure why it has such good reviews/ratings. The food was clearly overpriced and cooked at a low standard. We have ordered a vegan meatballs but was served with canned tomatoes sauce over pasta instead, we were also charged the same price for pasta than for the venison meatball dish...very disappointed, and will not recommend.

Me and my parents stopped there during or journey over Skye and we appreciated it so much.This this very nice place to eat if you want to enjoy a good lunch or dinner.You can go ahead with haddock and salmon that we ordered and enjoyed so much.Staff is lovely, patient and friendly! Thank you :) !You might need to be the first to arrive as there are not so much table/space but I can guarantee that you will enjoy!Caution: you will need cash as they do not have card machine (you can also send money through PayPal)
