Richmond House Hotel in Highland

Would stay again. Host friendly and helpful and accommodating. Room spacious with ensuite. We had double & single beds in our room. Double had mattress too soft for me but single was firm, so suited us both. Location in Fort Augustus is central & a lovely place to visit

Called in for a meal. Service was fast and very polite. I had the chicken curry with mushrooms and fried rice. Found was a good portion however, the table price is 50% dearer than takeaway so I've marked it down 1 star for that. Obviously plocation plays on the price like anywhere else but the food is good!

My partner and I booked one night here on our Scotland holiday.No mention of the hotel being attached to restaurant. There was no partition separating the restaurant from the rooms so you could hear everything going on downstairs. Cutlery being dropped, telephone ringing for takeaway orders, people talking etc etc.The plumbing was particularly terrible and incredibly loud. We could hear other guests using the shower and toilets at all hours.We were asked to write our breakfast choices down for the next morning which we did and duly handed in. There wasn't much point. We asked for cereal and got toast. The one poor woman serving was getting pulled left right and centre by guests asking for things they'd not received such as hot drinks or even their food.The room was clean enough and tidy with nice complimentary toiletries but nowhere near worth the £95 we paid for one night.If you're planning on visiting Fort Augustus I wouldn't bother. Not much to do. Not worth the stay. Maybe a visit passing through but not an overnight.Definitely avoid this place unless you're desperate (like we were as everywhere else booked up!)

The food was lovely but the service was awful. The food came on plates and we had to ask for for plates to eat off of and a serving spoon! It felt a bit like Faulty Towers. They didn't get our drinks order right and took ages to get the bill! As we were on holiday it didn't matter too much as we wouldn't be going back!

Found this place following a google search and liked the look of the food posted. Turned up for our meal, somewhat surprised to find it was a Chinese restaurant not as shown in the photos. Turns out the recently changed it over but pics not updated doh! After the initial confusion, still are here. Food was very good and service also. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

Stayed in the accommodation. It very clean and well kept. Bed was very comfy. Although situated on the main road, it was surprisingly quiet.Restaurant below was delicious. Staff were friendly and service was always with a smile and a wave.Would highly recommend to travellers who is looking for a pit stop going into skye especially with the added bonus of not needing to hunt for a delicious meal.

Came here to watch the football as it's description as whisky bar with pub food sounded perfect. Arrived to find that it...kinda is a bar, but is mostly actually a Chinese restaurant.The food was amazingThe atmosphere was greatScotland held England to a draw at WembleyWould highly recommend

Lovely little hotel, staff were wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay here.The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfy! Cracking fish and chips as well.

Staff were lovely but the bed was at slant hense kept rolling out ! Breakfast was good ! Loud traffic , but excellent loccation for watching boats going up and down the lock towards Loch Ness or onward towards Fort William ! Absolutely stunning scenery 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌅since the weather was exceptional for Scotland !

We frequently went for lunch and dinner at the bar, and cannot sing enough praises of this place. The staff are absolutely lovely and the food was amazing. It was so warm and welcoming and I highly recommend it be anyone’s go to place in Fort Augustus.
