First and last meal from here. The meal deal we had started well but our chicken dupiaza was watery and very bland, never finished it and would not even feed it to the dogs......shame as I really wanted it to be good.

Had a fab takeaway last night, had a set meal for two including two hot and spicy south Indian garlic chilli's. The chicken one was lovely, however my wife's lamb one was not so good, every piece of lamb was mostly gristle or chewey fat and really not enjoyable which was a pity as the rest of the meal was great .

Just received a delivery to our location at inchmore. Was ok to pay the delivery charge, as we are outside the delivery radius. I have never been so disappointed in Indian takeout. I ordered a chicken biryani & tandoori deluxe, where do I start with the review…???!!! The tandoori chicken pieces were tough, the lamb did not taste like lamb, the tandoori chicken leg, although thoroughly marinated in red food colouring, once cut the meat was grey… leads me to think the meat had been sitting for a while, ie was not fresh. The chicken biryani tasted very lemony, the accompanied bhuna sauce looked like stew, ie watery, full of oil & zero flavour. The whole order was binned within 5mins of delivery… I would not feed this food to my dog Max.Absolutely terrible, unsure how you are able to serve food that is of poor quality!PS. We are born & bred British Asians, and grown up with true Indian food.PPS. I wish I never bothered ordering in the first place.CAUTION to the people of Inverness…order at your own risk!

This is my local curry house and every dish I've had, from mild curries to the spicy naga, has been wonderful. As for appetizers, the pakora breading is absolutely amazing and the naans are always fresh. Sit-in or takeaway, Shimla is always very good and the service is very polite and prompt!

We stopped here during our nc500 trip and so glad we did! 100% recommend. All the dishes were so fresh and flavours were amazing. We felt really welcome here and Mr. Sam was brilliant.

We were living in The Clobbers (let down), above cafe just next to Shimla. We visited Shimla late at night but staff were outstanding to feel us comfortable. Food was so good. We ordered takeaways later and Shimla went beyond customer service. I have nothing but praise for them. Our apartment was a big let down but Shimla was there to have food ready for us.Some reviews mentioned they made them pay for main course per individual. I had those thoughts in my mind before I entered but nothing of that sort of talk. We ordered main course, take aways etc., always polite and friendly and ready to serve you, specially good with kids.I can say with no doubt it's most popular with locals.

Price was the main thing that stumped me! For the quantity given of each dish the price was really daylight robbery... our experience was made worse since the main 2 waiters tried to up sell us every time he came to our table instead of providing a warm enjoyable service never genuinely concerned with how we were. though i must add there was one of the waiting team there that was on the ball polite and an overall a great host just like you’d expect at a restaurant ... food was decent chicken was chewy like it was probably could of been prepared days before and they are making it stretch and like i said the portions were just tiny £3.50 for rice and it was a small silver plates worth... 7 for each of our rice a small silver dish each we were having a good laugh about that.Try this place if you want but i think you would be better across the road at the Priory!! You could have 3 mains and spend less than in this place then go round the back for a game of pool - all the best!

So you’re on holiday in the highlands of Scotland and you fancy an Indian takeaway? If you’re anywhere near Beauly you must use the Shimla. Excellent service, fantastic food full of flavour and freshly prepared. Absolutely delicious 🤤 Thank you 🙏 We are in a remote spot but delivery was prompt and great value. 🎉🎉

Ordered from here on Saturday evening for 10 of us. Rang through and was advised if paying cash on collection would be 10% discount. Drove down from our lodge to collect & price charged was alot more than we had worked out from the menu prices however we paid it & took the box of food. Once we got back to our lodge 5 miles away and started to dish up realised we were not given 1 rice & 1 chips we were charged for however too late & too much fuss to drive back down. Food was OK, not really much taste to be fair. Greasy biryani sauce, garlic masala without much taste of garlic & most of the sauces were of a watery consistency not the standard of Indian we are used to!!Wondered why the restaurant was empty when we arrived to collect but now we've tasted it think we understand why. Shame as the staff were very friendly.

The service was fast and friendly. And the food was worthy of a solid 3 stars. Sadly they are not participating with the eat out to help out from Monday-Wednesday which is a shame.
