If you are looking for the bland conformity of a wannabe chain hotel, forget this place. If, on the other hand, you appreciate a genuine warm welcome in a historic old railway hotel, in a location perfectly suited for access to nearby electric car chargers, look no further. Clean and comfortable, this was just what we needed on a long journey, and good value too. Thanks to the owner for going out of his way to make our stay a happy one.

Warm friendly staff, and one beautiful cracking room. Lovely little 3 star hotel. I recommend the room with the bay window. Clean and spacious perfect for our little break.

Great, clean and tidy, very friendly, and an excellent breakfast! Thank you all, plus the splendid little dog!

Absolute shambles, my partner ordered macaroni cheese and was served a tin of macaroni, the whole place is absolutely filthy and untidy, I wouldn't let my dog eat here. AVOID PEOPLE

Shabby and definitely not chic. Mix up with our booking but it was resolved. Room dusty, curtains fell off, no hairdryer over priced for what we got. We did have a meal which was surprisingly good and reasonably priced.

We popped in here for dinner without a booking. The food was fantastic. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating!

Had a nice night out here midweek. Lovely chatty staff and a first for us in a dining room where we were able to play pool whilst awaiting the fish and chips from the bar menu. George then entertained us with recipes from the kitchen...great desserts that would grace the table of a posh restaurant!

Original review down graded due to a repeat visit and different room. Such a contrast. Single room with shared bathroom. Lumpy mattress, sub par standard room. Wifi doesn't reach top floor. Water stained ceiling, weird lumps in old carpet. Particularly enjoyed finding strangers piss in the shared bathroom before using the facilities πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž---------------------------------------Pleasantly surprised by how comfortable, clean and nice the rooms were. Great food at very reasonable prices and generous portions. Have stayed in similarly priced places nearby and this has been the nicest and best priced so far. Would definitely stay again πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Last minute booking for a double room with breakfast. The room was well presented and clean. However the window was not able to be sealed shut. Which meant that there was a howling draft all night. The blinds rattled in the draft alongside this.Car park was not large enough to accommodate all the guests in the hotel. Conveniently the church car park was opposite and we were not visiting during Sunday service.Breakfast was abysmal. Poor quality ingredients and very small portions did not justify the amount paid in advance. Limited cold breakfast options, poor quality instant tea and coffee, topped off with a decidedly mediocre but stingy cooked 'full' breakfast.Would recommend this place in a pinch but advise against if you have options.

Amazing staff! We had issues with our booking website since they told us that we will have a private bathroom, but we actually paid for a shared bathroom. We talked to the hotel manager who moved us to a room with private bathroom without any extra charge. We are super happy with our stay - thank you again for the amazing service!
