Stuart's Fish and Chips in Highland

Fresh cooked fish, well cooked chips, bit of a wait for service and the food, but don't mind when the food tastes good, only complaint was that they use sachets of sauce and not traditional chip shop style sauces.

The only truly authentic scottish fish & chips experience I found on my recent trip north. Most establishments try to cater for a more continental or international clientele - or actual human beings in general. Not this place though. The fish & chips encounter is as horrible as it's supposed to be and has been told off for generations: fish so greasy it melts your cheap plastic fork (plastic knife not provided, just use your hands), sloppy, half-cooked chips without taste, onion rings that make you consider your life's choices - a traditional scottish meal that will support your appreciation of the island's beverage producers. The final touch is the loving presentation of the food and the cheap, unopenable sauce faucets of indistinct flavour. No save-the-planet-greenies around here, each meal produces enough rubbish to offset a larger residential building's recycling efforts. If you fancy a more traditional approach to hebredian cuisine and have good health insurance, this is the place to visit in scotland!

Proper traditional beef dripping (fat) fried fish and chips. One of best fish and chips I’ve had, and I’m Northern.

Friendly staff, OK Food. Not the best Fish and Chips I've ever had, but not the worst either and at least we got served without previous reservation, which is apparently an incredible feet in Portree even out of the tourist season. After 4-5 failed attempts to get seated in any restaurant we were more than happy for the food we got.

I got the worst food of my whole trip here. Everything was flooded in fat, the chips where sloppy and wet. The fish was dripping. Everything comes in small plastic boxes. Trying to open the little ketchup plastic bags and pushing out the ketchup proved to be impossible with my fingers drenched in greasy fat. I wish they had an aftermeal shower, but there wasnt even a sink :(

Drove 45 mins to reach the spot to find a "closed" sign eben when google tags it as "open". Time and planning failed - bad for a 200miles trip with some schedules to respect.

Lovely fish and chip supper - be prepared to queue, it's a very popular place, but well worth the wait!

Fish and chips take away joint in the center of town. Fair price, tasty, and fresh. Service staff were excellent. Great if you cannot get into a restaurant in town (make reservations for any restaurant in Portee!!!).
