I came here a while ago and I thought I’d come and give this place a try it was very quiet with a few locals who were all lovely however the person working I believe his name was Damian he was I believe polish. Was very pesky towards this girl and seemed to be giving her loads of ‘free drinks’ and was acting fishy. There was an English bloke who asked him what he was doing which he didn’t take kindly he got very aggressive and tried to kick him out which he did but in the process he was very aggressive and abusive luckilyThe guy was able to handle himself but the guy working followed him home and etc…. I came here the next day throughout the day and there was other staff in and they was all lovely!! Would recommend this place brilliant food and drinks just maybe need to monitor the staff.

I love this place! Great little local pub with American style menu. The staff here are very friendly. Quirky decor makes this a memorable place to stop off for a quick meal or meet up every weekend.

Great selection of local and international craft beer, single malt whisky, excellent food (highly recommend the smoked BBQ meat dishes) and fantastic friendly service. What more could you ask for?

Although we never stayed we did thoroughly enjoy our food. The philly steak sandwiches were excellent. Friendly and courteous service. Great banter with the owner and bar tender. Very welcoming for dogs too.

Fantastically odd and somewhat eclectic but with a genuine feel and overall a great place to spend the night. If I'm ever staying up this way again I will be sure to check if there are any rooms available.

We had an amazing stay at the Anderson. We only stayed one night so I'm not sure what else is in the area but this was our last stop on our trip before we flew back.Jim was a wonderful host and the Anderson made for a cozy experience to eat, drink, and sleep before we got on a plane the next morning. It's a little quirky with all the passages and interconnected rooms, I think it contributes to its charm. The food was wonderful and there's an excellent whisky selection. The drams were the most reasonable prices we saw our entire trip and I saw things on the menu I didn't see anywhere else.

Excellent local pub! So many different beers from so many different places it's bound to have the perfect beer for you.The decore is also fantastic, it feels homely and cozy. The bar staff are very friendly and more than willing to help get the right drink for you.If your looking for a classic cozy pub feel it's worth popping in for a pint.

So disappointed! Having stayed there several years ago and having had such a great stay and meals, as we were in the area we thought it was a good place to go out for a meal for our wedding anniversary. The starters and main courses were okay but nothing special. However having waited 20 minutes from our plates being cleared we decided enough was enough. With no sign of our order being taken, the enthusiasm for the deserts and whiskies that were hoping to have had gone. The young guy who served us was friendly and his knowledge of the fantastic whisky selection impressive but he was rushed off his feet. Clearly not the experience we were hoping for.

Went in following recommendation from a passing tourist and very glad we did. Food was excellent (fresh mussels for starter were the best I've ever tasted!).Barman/waiter was incredibly friendly and knew the food and drink menu inside out, and made my dog feel very welcome too!Five stars...highly recommended!

Went for steaks tonight, they were gorgeous, they had that lovely taste of chargrilled steak. The young man who served us was so lovely and intelligent, kind and informative. I really liked him a lot. The bartender was so knowledgeable about whiskey and was also very professional . Give it a go. Its a nice place.
