The food was good enough, really enjoyed the smoked chicken. The wait staff were wonderful, no complaints there. The low rating is because of the unwelcome attitude shown by one of the men behind the bar. He initially tried to turn me and my friend away and said there was no seating, although 2 tables were clearly free. The other staff looked confused about this too. He then halfheartedly offered us a table, and also spoke in a rude way when my friend was about to pay.Having read other reviews about this place showing racist behaviour, I would advise avoiding this restaurant - the food really doesn't make up for the questionable treatment.

Slightly overpriced, food in horrible presentation not so tasty, service unpleasant and not helpful at all. Information from the first page of menu that food is best quality from local suppliers is some kind of a joke, it simple can’t be true. We have had very poor experience and the worse so far during our trip to Scotland. One star it’s way to many for that.

Had three meals in here this week. All brilliant. The steak pie is amazing and huge. And tried the pork and apple burger, which was yummy and great value. Had chocolate cake which was huge. Prices of the food are great Staff helpful and friendly

One of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten. I don’t really know why it has so many stars and actually We were baited by that. The food was trash and the veggies not even cooked. To be honest most of the food was not cooked. The haggis was horrendous and we couldn’t even touch it as it probably cooked from a can(fun fact is that I am a meat lover). The chicken was dry with a slice of cheddar on top and microwaved. I give it one star because the waiters were very kind. Please do not go and eat there.. the food was disgusting and the reviews are misleading.

This place had really fresh meat. I had fish and chips with veggies, my partner had salmon with veggies and both weren't disappointed. Pleasntly surprised with the freshness of the food quality.

Stopped off for dinner. Staff were really friendly and made it a pleasure to be there. Food had generous portions and price was reasonable. Steaks seemed quite expensive compared to other items so we avoided those. Meme was limited but has most tastes covered. I was disappointed that the special I chose was sold out so had to go with a second choice main. The food was a little bland but still quite nice. If there was a little more seasoning and the first choice was available for the main it would easily be a five star.

Nice little pub, it is in the centre of the village, so very easy to find and convenient for a quick lunch break. The menù is not huge but offers all the classic pub dishes, we tried the haddock and chips and it was nice, quite a big portion as well. The staff has been friendly and really quick during the service (we were with an organised tour and didn’t have much time to eat), also the atmosphere inside is nice and cozy, which a heater and a tv.Another pro were the super clean toilets.

Filthy condiments, terrible attitude and microwave meals. We ordered food for a table of 4, however received what can only be described as a school dinner from back in the 80's.The leak and potato soup looked like it had a small 1l drizzle of oil.The steak pie was dry and chef Mike (heard constantly pinging in the background) had certainly been busy on the mash...We mentioned to the server about the soup and congealed condiments. Surprisingly we were met with no apology whatsoever. The abismal service continued when we came to pay. We questioned the meal with the 'gentleman' behind the bar with regards to the ridiculously dry steak pie and microwaved mashed potato. He said 'I don't believe that for a second'... Yeah ok, we love going out for a meal, paying for it and unable to eat it...If you want to be treated with contempt, and served shocking microwave meals for a premium this is the place for you.If not, there are far better places to dine out for a comparable budget with good food and a friendly service.

We had good beer, wine and hot tea. Fine beer garden at the back and also few tables next to the canal at the front. Staff nice. Unfortunately we had no chance to try food as arrived too late on Saunday evening.
