Really excellent food but it is slow service which would be fine if the room wasnât so cold. The small number of tables (there were 4 in total during our visit) and the lack of background music did create a strange atmosphere as everyone was trying to whisper to avoid being heard by the other tables.Overall great food but for the price to be justified the overall experience needs to be just as good and unfortunately that isnât the case here.

Is the rating really 1-5? Because I would give it negative. I am begging you not to come here please. It took a total of 2 hours to complete my meal. 30 mins of eating and 1h 30m of waiting. I could have fished my own meal twice in that time. That's not even the problem, you're forced to buy a 4 meal course even if you don't want to, which at the start they serve you some lobster biscuit, but oh no its not a biscuit it's the worst tasting drink I ever had. Just because its a seafood restaurant doesn't mean you have to stuff as much salt as you want into a tiny cup.The food was... meh and it was overpriced. I'm begging you just ease don't come here.

Superb seafood meal. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere, never rushed. Perfectly cooked, delicious and we came away full. The paella was spot on, would definitely order again.

Wow! Amazing little gem tucked away in the port of Scrabster. Super fish restaurant with outstanding food. Currently serving in the glass fronted takeaway shed which means you get to people watch across the ferry terminal while eating. Highly recommended - but don't tell everyone!

Absolutely amazing food, the fish was so fresh and delicious! Can recommend the smokies for a starter, and the Oysters were an excellent choice to follow. A very interesting location, with lovely attentive staff! Canât recommend a visit enough - looking forward to a return trip!!

Some food can be good but good luck getting a hold of them for a reservation or otherwise. They need to already be open for one. They need an email and phone number for another (which they don't use). And, they need to actually get their schedules straight. My wife and I both called for a reservation giving all the info. I cancelled mine after finding out the duplication from my wife. They didn't call or email but sent a text to my wife stating the wrong time and that we were confirmed (though they already had confirmed on the phone). Problem was, the text confirmation was for the wrong time. We called and got an answering machine stating that they were closed the day of the reservation. We both left messages at both Scrabster Seafood Bar and Captain's Galley (being run by the same people) they use for serving as we had no idea what to expect at that point. They called my wife an hour before the reservation to tell her they were closed for renovations all day. Not emergency renovations... planned ones... Yeah. We were less than pleased with the lack of communication and accuracy of information. I'd steer clear.

Absolutely amazing seafood. At present due to Covid restrictions waiting staff aren't always in the room where you're seated so there can be a wee bit of a delay before you get service again, however service is always friendly and polite. Definitely worth a trip if you're not in a rush.

The seafood bar serves food from the restaurant kitchen and so provides excellent dishes in the afternoon when the restaurant is closed. We had partan bree which is crab soup which was amazing and 6 langoustines for starters, then battered scallops and chips with 2 dips and mussels in a sauce also with chips, both fantastic. They looked so good we forgot to take pictures. We washed it all down with local beer and a glass of wine. We had tried to book the restaurant but it was fully booked all weekend yet we walked right into the seafood bar and got great service and food straight away. So donât be disappointed if you cannot get a table in the restaurant, visit the seafood bar instead.

We loved our visit to the Captainâs Galley although we do remain a little baffled as to who is actually the captain of the ship, Jim or Mary? We suspect that in actual fact itâs their joint efforts that create the magic! We were welcomed like old friends and treated to a highly skilled culinary experience from both front of house and kitchen alike. Some memorable dishes but certainly the monkfish stood out especially. We will most certainly return again next time weâre in the area!I also had a good chuckle at whoever decided to place the sharkâs jaws on the cistern in the gents loo! Someone has a great sense of humour!Thank you Jim & Mary. Weâll be back!
