The Factor's House in Highland

Totally agree with the other glowing reviews. The Factor’s House is a spacious and tastefully appointed home from home just 5 mins from the cute town of Cromarty.But what really marks this B&B out is Fiona, the lovely host and her amazing, restaurant-quality food. When you stay, be sure to sample her supper; at £45 for three courses it represents excellent value. Breakfasts are similarly high quality and there’s an honesty bar with a great selection of wines, whiskies and local gins.All in all, top notch, highly recommend!

Very Nice B & B. Excellent location. 5 min walk to village. Would definitely recommend. Fiona was very nice and helpful. Superb takeaway in village also a pub & small beach.

As others have said, this is the best guesthouse I have ever stayed in. A large and beautiful room, with spacious bathroom and bath, and everything you could want or need. Fiona's food is delicious, and she has an excellent wine list. She herself is a lovely host, both warm and professional.

Was our last stop doing the NC500 and we left the best to last for sure. I was sharing a twin room which was not only very comfortable, it was set up perfectly including extras like some fresh fruit. Fiona made us feel very welcome and in the evening we chatted to some of the other guests making use of the well stocked 'honesty bar'... The breakfast was also great - large amount of items to select / choose and perfectly cooked - we both had the mixed smoked salmon and scrambled egg... which set us up perfectly for the 520 mile drive home !! Would recommend to anyone ..................

Our room was spotlessly clean and very welcoming and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately we were only staying one night rather than longer. We hope we can return.

A fabulous hotel, we were greated with a lovely warm welcome from Fiona and we loved everything about the hotel, the rooms are beautiful and the place smells lovely with all the beautiful soaps Fiona makes. Breakfast is absolutely fantastic, lots of lovely choices on the menu. This has definitely gone into our list of favourite hotels to stay in. We look forward to returning.

Room and food were both excellent and Fiona was a very attentive host. Would definitely recommend to friends. Good selection of drinks available and nice touches in the bedroom such as fresh milk, good selection of teas and coffees and a multi USB adapter. Bed very comfortable.We had an excellent evening meal and the breakfast menu was varied, the food was very nicely presented and delicious.

The best B&B we have stayed in for many years - possibly ever. Fiona’s welcome was warm and genuine and made us feel at home immediately. The house is beautifully and tastefully appointed, with every possible creature comfort, and our room was comfortable and relaxing. Fiona’s instinctive attention to detail is highly impressive and her cuisine is superb and understated. This is B&B as it ought to be; a little jewel in Cromarty’s crown.

We had a fantastic couple of days at The Factor's House. The host, Fiona, was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The room was comfortable and spacious, and in the stylish en-suite was some of Fiona's homemade scented soap and bath salt, which is also for sale and is highly recommended. If you're planning a stay here, make sure you book the three-course dinner as well. Absolutely delicious – mostly local and seasonal, so whatever is on the menu is a pleasant surprise on the day – and cooked to a very high standard. The generous breakfast is lovely, too. And the large, mature garden at the back of the house is a perfect setting for watching the sun set over the Cromarty Firth.

Very comfortable room and lovely lounge. Beautiful garden with fabulous views. Food out of this world. Wonderful choice for breakfast and the single fixed menu dinner was absolutely fabulous. Fiona is a trained chef and as much as possible is sourced locally and organically and is home made. A real gem of a place.
