We stayed ⁹15th - 17th April, room very nice. Breakfast....no staff, cold coffee, toast was 2 crusts the end of lofe, waiter didn't know who had ordered what. Same service next day, my husband went and made his own coffee. We've stayed many times in the past and enjoyed it, but not sure about going back. Alot of money for 2 days. 😔

Great choice of food, warm welcome. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The service is attentive and friendly. Lovely cosy place. We’ve booked to come back for dinner.

My 4☆ was for a visit in the summer of 2021, we were there yesterday, 5th March 2022 and tbh reluctant to return, new staff team learning the role which I understand takes time and they were super attentive and friendly, it was the food that was lacking. A restaurant who's main focus is seafood it was disappointing that it was all frozen. Good presentation but the taste texture and quality of the food was poor, I hope as the season progresses the quality improves. As a regular visitor to the area I now know why the locals don't find this restaurant thier choice of place to go.

Excellent. Friendly and helpful efficient service. These lovely people looked after a party of 22. We had pre-booked and the food was excellent. Special thanks to Doris and her helpful staff

If you fancy a night in Fawlty Towers book yourself in.Bedroom was okay especially if you like the heat! For some reason we were ushered into the bar for our meal along with what felt like in covid times too many other people when there was a restaurant large enough to cope with guests but we didn't see anyone in it.but we had breakfast in it.Food was okay but really for the price not worth it.The area is beautiful tho and I'm sure much better hotels.

Complete shamblesTheir online booking system was fine and appeared to work, until it came to their process for booking a table and breakfast. You receive an email stating that you need to book breakfast prior to arriving and if you want a table for an evening meal, you are advised to book in advance. It also states that this has to be received by 1400 on the day. A week before our arrival date, we then received a second email with the links for booking. We booked breakfast and tried to book a table, but the site said that there were none available. As such I phoned the host and he stated that he would put us on the reserve list but not to worry, as he would ‘sort something out’The initial greeting by the host was warm and welcoming but from there on in, he was unhelpful and very short. I asked about the table and he said we would have to wait until 1900 as people drop out around 1800 – 1900. At 1900 we checked with him again and he said that there was nothing and there was nothing he could do – so much for sorting something out.We also asked him to remind us what time we had booked breakfast for, as you don’t get a copy, when you book. He told us to fill in another form and rebook, as he didn’t have time to look on the computer system. The next morning when we went for breakfast, the waitress asked us if we had booked and we stated that we had booked through the online system. She asked us to fill out another form, as the computer system does not work! The tables had been laid out with the juice you had ordered and on some tables, this was still there when we booked out.The location for the hotel is picturesque but the hotel interior did not match this. The room was run down and appeared grubby, with black mould on the shower tiles. It was small with inadequate storage (small wooden rail). There was also a compressor running outside, all night. We also suspected this used to be a staff room. I would say that this was a £36 room but because of supply and demand, they charge far, far more. For £10 more, we previously stayed in a 4* hotel! All in all, not a good experience, especially as all the other accommodation we stayed in was of a similar price but far superior to this and we were looked after much better. The booking system appeared to be more about penny pinching than reducing waste.

Ate in the restaurant, and did not stay in room, so this is just a review of that. Really good food in a warm and friendly atmosphere. I loved the Game Pie. Highly recommended. You need to book, but many were not preordering so feel free not to.

Good to have vegan options in the menu but wasn’t executed that well. The burger was so dry - the menu said it should come with a marmalade relish but it just didn’t. When the bun is that thick you need a moist burger but this was a dry burger on a really thick dry bun. The chips were really undercooked which is baffling as it surely should be the most basic thing to cook. The risotto was mediocre.Dog friendly and very nice staff though.

Undoubtedly one of the best seasoned and cooked steaks I've ever had, gobsmacked at how tasty it was, so much so I didn't actually use any of the peppercorn sauce, amazing chips too.Portion sizes aren't the best for the price, I was still hungry after starter and main. The Coquille st Jacques, although presented beautifully on a bed of mash and a huge scallop was pretty pricey for just the one. I'd have expected at least two scallops for almost £15 with or without the extra work involved with the sauces and mash, beautiful none the less.I'll definitely revisit when I'm over in Gairloch again, hopefully I'll have better luck with the weather.Staff were attentive and pleasant.Really nice treat for the mother on her birthday.
