The Shandwick Inn in Highland

Popped in for a quick meal with my wife.3 delicious courses later....Nice to see the restaurant has been brightened up with new lighting. Some of the tables have seen better days and could do with being replaced.Overall a deliciously pleasant experience. 🙂

Great customer service, big portions of food with a wide range of options available and delicious sweet puddings.

Clean. Cosy. Warm. Picnic basket left at door with breakfast in each morning . Only problem was the shower. It kept going from cold to scalding hot all on its own.

Very nice food , not too expensive but huge amount of food.

Love this place, plenty to chose from and great portions no chance of being hungry.

The food was amazing but unfortunately that was the only positive feedback I can give this restaurant. Myself and girlfriend visited the other day and had high expectations. We walked in and there were about 6 people standing just before the bar so we thought they were waiting to be seated. 10 minutes past and no members of staff came near us, I went up to the bar and asked what was going on and was told those people are waiting for a takeaway and I should have just walked past them. I thought fair enough my mistake,the girl took us to our table and asked us what we would like to drink she took our order and left, 20 minutes later I went back to the bar and asked where our drinks were and she said she was to young to serve alcohol and needed to get someone else to do it for her. I told here that was ridiculous we had waited ages and no one came near us. When we did get our drinks I said we were ready to order food the girl said she would come back in a minute, 10 minutes past before she did. When the food came it was excellent it really was good we could not fault it. Unfortunately the service was shocking we asked for extra sauce and some salt we were almost finished before the girl came with it, we also asked for another drink it was quick in coming then 20 minutes later another round arrived that we didn't ask for and the guy said the girl should never of taking alcohol to us. I wouldn't say it was the staffs fault they all looked about 15, no one was wearing a uniform or even smart clothes they were either in jeans or leggings and t-shirt or jumpers and all in different colours. If the management wanted to have a reasonable standard they would provide a uniform or ask there staff to dress appropriately.

Visited here with the family and I couldn't fault them. Lovely pub with great food. Their portion sizes are very generous, which is great, but often leaves you with a half finished main. Better to much than too little!
