The Tongadale Hotel Restaurant in Highland

Wonderful place to stay! The whole team was very accommodating and helpful letting us drop our bags off early and checking in on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. Would absolutely recommend staying there. The best Full Scottish Breakfast we have ever eaten!

Hotel rooms are very basic, but clean and functional. Great location for Skye without a car. Breakfast was superb, and all the staff were all very friendly!The main issue here was thin walls/floors, so any loud people could be heard, at any time of night. If you're a light sleeper, you may wish to stay elsewhere, or request a top floor room.

This hotel has the kindest staff! My husband and I stayed here for a week last month, and it was really nice to feel like we were coming back to a "home base" at the end of every day. The bar downstairs has a nice authentic pub feel, and we met lots of really lovely locals. This is a budget hotel with minimal frills, but the staff easily accommodated any question or request we had. The only two suggestions I would make to take this hotel to the next level would be new mattresses and upgraded wifi.

My son and I visited Portree during the Easter holidays and had our dinner here. We were looked after by Kinsey and Laura. We were very well looked after the girls were very friendly and helpful. Our meals were lovely too. Would highly recommend.Di and Nathan

Luckily I found this restaurant, located in the Tongadale Hotel, whilst walking around town. Out of all the food I had on my trip in Scotland, this was one of my groups favourites. Vegetables and salad included with our delicious meal! Staff and service were amazing!

If you are looking for value accomodation but don't like hostels this place is highly recommended. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished but not fancy. Beds are comfortable. Would stay here again.The main Highlands Council carpark is very nearby, free from 8pm-8am and you can pay for up to 12 additional hours at a time.

The Tongadale is a truly unique experience. The rooms feel like a nicer hostel, and it can be quite loud. There is a bar and restaurant on the main floor so keep that in mind if booking here. The restaurant was okay. The staff was very nice and accommodating! I got the beef lasagna and it was delicious but not everyone in my group enjoyed their dinner unfortunately. The location is absolutely perfect. It's surrounded by so many shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. Parking is a little difficult but for a small town, that was expected.

It's a good place to get your head down. Not fancy rooms but basic and clean. Good bar downstairs and breakfast was very good too. Just the job 👍

We stayed here for 2 nights, and the crowning jewel of our stay truly was Caitlin in the restaurant. Never have I seen someone so perfectly balance being personal and professional. We felt a warm welcome every time we sat to eat, with speedy and precise service. For this reason alone, we would gladly stay here again despite some other very minor issues with our room, check in procedure, and weak WiFi.

Stayed here for 9 nights whilst working on Skye. Fantastic wee hotel, the staff are very friendly and accomodating. The cooks and restaurant staff are excellent. The food at the hotel is outstanding. A little bit sad to be going home 😥 would highly recommend a stat here!!
