Very comfortable abd spotless accommodation, friendly and professional staff and amazing food. Takeaway breakfast was brilliant as our friends doing the NC500 were able to make and early startMaybe you will be able to welcome dogs in future?We'd love to visit again

Menu was varied, and very well executed. Service was friendly yet not intrusive. Met the challenge of gluten free well, staff seemed to understand intolerances. A good selection of drinks- do visit!

An absolute gem of place. If you're doing the North Coast 500 #NC500 then in all likelihood you'll go through Tongue, STOP HERE! You will not be disappointed. The food is outstanding, there is also genuinely warm and friendly service to look forward to. Skylah looked after us on our visit and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome

Food is just ok but nothing special therefore represents very poor value for money. The waitress was friendly but there was zero atmosphere in the dining room with everyone whispering like we're in a library. While the NC500 remains so popular places like this can get away with over-charging and under-delivering.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful location! Highly recommend anyone passing through the area spending the night here. The hotel itself is stunning and clearly has a lot of history. The staff are lovely and so attentive.The rooms are equipped with TVs sporting a Room Cast dongle allowing you to connect to the internet through the TV and cast videos from your phone - a very neat and nice addition.There were only two things we felt could be improved: Breakfast and the pillows.The pillows were simply too hard and made for a slightly uncomfortable night should that not be your preference.Breakfast is nothing more than a continental breakfast of ham, cheese, cereal, yogurts, muffins, etc. Given the amazing food on offer in the evening, we found it remarkable that the hotel didn't offer a cooked breakfast option.Note: the hotel offered a breakfast box to takeaway which you can order the night before and will be left outside your door. We spotted one on the way to breakfast and they looked quite impressive.Highly recommend.

Stayed for one night during our tour of Sutherland Both rooms were very nice and comfortable, although with COVID there seems to be no residents’ lounge. The food at dinner was very good - with a fine menu well prepared and cooked. The problem was breakfast. Of the four hotels we stayed at this was the only one without a cooked option. Also, the service wasn’t very good (not offered tea & coffee , had to request it and the continental buffet was not restocked whilst we were in the room) I do sympathise with hotels that are struggling for staff etc. but the breakfast offering let’s down what would otherwise be a very nice hotel.

The Tongue Hotel and restaurant were a highlight of our 12 day Highlands driving tour. The rooms were spacious and charming with modern bathrooms. Dinner was excellent! We would love to come back. Lovely walk to some ruins just next to hotel and the owners gave us great suggestions for nearby beautiful beaches.

Wow! What a great hotel, honestly it has been amazing. The rooms were very well presented and very clean, the service from the reception staff who were very friendly, bubbly and helpful to the dinner service and room service was brilliant! absolutely spot on, not one complaint. Beds were soft, we all had a great nights sleep, definitely would recommend and come back to this hotel, wish I was staying a bit longer ...
