We go to Scotland every year, and every year we make a point of visiting The Trawler. It's small and cosy if you want to sit inside but it's a stone's throw away from the beach if the weather's nice. The food is always excellent. Whether you've had Red Pudding before or not you've got to try one from The Trawler. Just ask for a red pudding supper and it'll come with chips included. Oh my, I'm drooling at the thought.

The GF options were really good. Best gluten free batter I’ve had in chip shop. Homemade tartare sauce is second to non. Will be returning very soon! :)

Hoping to return over the Easter break with the family to the best chippy in Scotland. If you are staying up around Golspie way, please visit. Food is fabulous. The best fish and chips and very friendly service.

Went here based on the reviews that I had read on Google, only to be thoroughly disappointed. We ordered 3 fish suppers and a pizza supper for a total of £33. Now if it was really good I would have no qualms about the cost, but it was below average with soggy greasy chips and poor batter on the fish ( aka not light and crispy). Disappointment was heightened by the good reviews and a 5-hour journey to get here. Would not recommend to anyone, not even the dog. Just look at the photos for proof.

I just wanted to say that you made my day today by not only serving gluten free fish and chips but for making them so delicious…the batter was so light and crispy! Definitely worth travel up from Tain for….I’ll be back!

Good fish suppers and mushy peas. Friendly staff who helped me order via phone so I was able to choose a good time for me to collect them. Great - we'll be back for sure!

Been here twice now 2018/2021 with my visits to the Highlands of Scotland. Crunchy chips with fluffy centres and delicious boneless cod portions. Good value for top quality takeaway.

Was not the friendliest service we have had since being on Scotland. The menu was not very well explained and the menu is very hard to read with the light reflecting off it.Every thing we asked for was meet with a rolling of the eyes look. Also we got a pickle onion each for the 4 of us and have seen bigger peas then the size of the onions. Also got charged for a gravy we did not order and it was not even in the takeaway bag. They clearly not interested in serving to passing tourists.

Absolutely stunning fish and chips, been coming for several years and always freshly cooked and then enjoyed on Golspie beach, quick service, polite, and fairly reasonably priced, a bit more then normal but worth it!.

This is a fantastic little spot for a cheeky chippy and fried fish! We stopped on our way up to the Orkney Islands and it was well worth it. There was a short queue, but we didn’t wait long. The food was damn tasty and we enjoyed our fish and a deep fried blood pudding snack on the beach! They aren’t skimp on the tartar either, which is great. It was all super!
