Much photographed and fearured in many tourism brochures. On the shores of Loch Ness, it's one of the larger and most visited castles in Scotland. Now a ruin, it has a rich history which is well described on signs around the castle. It's very busy in the mornings, the best time to visit is early evening.

A must visit place if you're in the area, one of Scotland's top 3 most visited castles. A ruined castle with an interesting story and history. An interesting video at the start of your tour. Beautiful location.Excellent shop. Friendly staff.I'd recommend buying the guide book as some of the information signs around the site didn't seem quite so accurate.

Fun and interesting place to visit! We enjoyed the small exhibition and the ruins of the castle. They provide a nice layout from the castle in it original state so you know which 'room' your walking through. It is really a ruin tho, you can learn a lot about its history and see how it looks now but it's not a complete castle anymore.

I guess you have to stop there when driving along Loch Ness.
