We stop here once or twice every few months for a carry out on our way home and have never been disappointed with either the meal or the service. The shop has always been clean, prices comparable with elsewhere, and the portion generous. The only issue has always been the difficulty getting parked close by, as my wife and I are both elderly and disabled the further we need to walk the greater the strain, and it can be quite galling to watch young fit people jumping into cars by the door.Anyway, for the quality of the food etc we would highly recommend here, we have never been disappointed.

Been a few times now, having different things from the menu and come to the same conclusion- a nice and very clean shop, but ok(ish) food that is very expensive for what you get and definitely not the best chippy in Scotland anymore.

Tables are away just now for sit in. Smallish fish and batter crisp but looked a little pale. Chips cooked in beef dripping were a generous portion. Dealt with large que well.

Lovely food. Great selection, good portions. One of the best chip shops I've ever been in.

Freshly cooked fish and chips, only had to wait 5 mins this evening. Social distancing measures in place and staff were very friendly and efficient. The establishment was spotless as usual. Food was delicious, highly recommended.

If you're in the area and hankering after a good chippie then Fochabers Fish Bar won't let you down. Chips cooked to perfection alongside a very tasty steak pie left me with a satisfied smile on my face! Well run with very good efficient staff.

Very good food, excellent service, Covid restrictions in place with plenty of space and efficient one way system. Haddock tastes so fresh, really good... On a different league compared to many other that claim to have the best fish and chips. One star down as it was a bit soggy and unfortunately all the crispy butter on the under side ended up like a brown mush losing crispness and texture.

The fish and chips were delicious, fresh fish, crispy light batter and great chips. Nice touch with the lemon wedge and pot of tartare sauce. Good service and friendly staff. I highly recommend and will certainly be visiting again😋

The fish and chips served here was excellent so fresh and a nice portion also. The restaurant part is not open but you can make your order via a small wondow. You are given a buzzer which activates once your order is ready. We did have long to wait and it was not too busy. The village of Fochabers may have a by-pass but it is certainly worth a visit to see what the village has to offer.

This is probably one of the best fish and chip shops around the UK. Granted, you can’t currently sit in due to COVID-19 restrictions, but that doesn’t stop the food from being amazing! Normally when sitting in, for an extra £1 you can order tea and buttered bread for the table. Obviously this isn’t possible at the moment. I usually go for a black pudding supper, (for non-Scots that’s a deep-fried black pudding with chips) followed by the classic — a deep-fried Mars Bar. Soft, slightly melting inside and still warm, this is some of the best food in Scotland. If you’re ever up on the coast near Elgin, head down the road to Fochabers Fish Bar and drop in. You won’t be disappointed!
