The room was cold, cleanliness poor, room windows were rotting. Beds were comfortable. Evening Meal for 4...Salmon was OK. Steak was expensive and not cooked as requested. 2 veggie spring rolls were undercooked, not nice. No apology or reduction in cost of meal. Guinness poured from a can at £4.50cost. Whole hotel needs some tlc. Breakfast was perfect apart from the coffeeNever again!! Not a 4 star hotel in my opinion

Freezing cold in bar area. Had to ask for a few gluten free choices. Food slow to be served. Main courses expensive for a lunchtime. Food was good once served but wont be rushing back due to the cold environment and prices.

We went for a party🥃 good selection of drinks. Great big rooms for people to dance

I used to eat here very often when I lived locally. Back in the area for a few days and decided to visit an old haunt. I've never written a review for a restaurant before, but had to for this. It was terrible. The duck was undercooked and tasted bad. I have a pretty strong stomach, but it left me feeling nauseous. Ordered apple crumble to take the taste away: it was apple sauce with breadcrumbs in top. The prices were hugely inflated for the food served. No apology was given for undercooked and poor food. Avoid.

Attended a funeral reception at the Ramnee Hotel. The staff were told that first drinks were to be paid for by the organisers but they charged guests anyway and had to be corrected. The buffet food was not laid out for the quests on arrival as briefed and took far too long to rectify. No member of staff was available to sort things and we had to find the staff and demand the proper service which was very slow coming. Overall the service provided was well below the standard you would expect and deserve for a funeral reception.

It is relatively easy to find a good hotel. It is far more difficult to find one which is excellent and consistently excellent. My wife and 2 dogs and I had a wonderful break in October. We booked the first available date following the relaxation of lockdown restrictions and brought friends and their 2 dogs.Again were given rooms on the ground floor backing straight on to the glorious garden and with the added benefit of making it easy to take our luggage to the rooms and spared my old dog and myself having to battle with stairs! The rooms were cosy, spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. We all slept really well- dogs included. The meals were excellent and the menu large and extensive. The portions were large the food very tasty and my vegan requirements were met despite this being their first day of opening after a terrible and long lockdown. The garden and grounds are large and beautiful. There is no need to venture further but there is a large park and woodland just across from the hotel. Many hotels now accept dogs, but few are really dog friendly. The Ramnee Hotel certainly is! One member of staff came back in her own time to introduce her Beagle to our dogs and Chris the owner went up to his rooms to bring his own dog to the photoshoot. The icing on the cake. My thanks to all for a most wonderful stay. We hope to visit you again soon and wish you all the best in these very difficult times. Iain.

I attended tonight for a family meal. The service was great and we were very well looked after but the food was really below what was expected. The kids meals were burnt and so hard the children couldn't eat them. The fish was overcooked and the chips were clearly the cheapest they could buy. The food was far too expensive and I'll never go back there for a meal. Very disappointed as I came from Glasgow to spend some time with my family. Would not recommend this place.

The staff made a good experience exceptional. Very pleasant, period hotel. Good food and a fair, if not extensive dinner menu choice. The breakfast options however are excellent, both in variety and the quantity! However, from the welcome on entering the reception, to leaving at the end of our stay, all the staff members were friendly, professional and went out of their way to ensure we were well catered for and had everything and more to ensure our comfort and convenience.
