Hotel Square in Moray

I returned to the beautiful village of Tomintoul after 35 years. This village is timeless and still looks very much the same. Such a beautiful place with fabulous old buildings and gorgeous countryside. Lots of red deer roaming around. This hotel was clean and they were kind enough to give us a room late at night. Very accommodating. We had a vegetarian breakfast which was very. The manager and staff were all very lovely. Highly recommended.

Although we hadn't booked, they were able to squeeze four of us in for an evening meal.This turned out to be our lucky night as we enjoyed a fantastic three course meal with good wine and excellent service. The food was beautifully cooked and presented, with good quality meat and fish dishes. There was no pressure on us to finish and move on, and we were able to take our time to enjoy the excellent food. We would thoroughly recommend eating here.

Staying in the village in our Motorhome for weekend & booked here for an evening meal. Warm hospitality doesn't do it justice but we got that in spades. Absolutely delightful young woman attended to us throughout. She even invited us to enjoy our drinks by the open log fire whilst we waited on our food as it was a damp,chilly evening. We had a starter,a main course & drinks which came to £38 which was excellent value. Food was home cooked & she explained the specials in great detail. Enjoyed the ambience & the jazz music in the background. All Covid careful,sanitizer available,clean,lovely paintings. It had a unique charm & this lovely girl adds to it. Please go and support her. It was full of warmth & care & we loved it.

Wonderful hotel and restaurant. Staff were fantastic and very helpful. Food was fantastic- well worth a drive out. There's plenty of walks and wooded areas which is lovely for all the family, just a short drive to the nearby towns and local distilleries. Lots of places nearby that allows you to rent kayaks and bikes for outdoor adventures

I've stayed here in October while Scotland was in the midst of a circuit breaker lockdown due to Covid 19. Though it was very quiet the owners and staff have succeeded in making me forget that the pandemic even exists for 3 and a half blissful days, sparing nothing to make me feel like a VIP. The food, both breakfast and dinner, is amazing and the cozy armchairs by the open fireplace afford a chance to get lost in a book for hours with ease. When I did go out for a wander the owners have given me expert advice on the area and had an answer for every question! I look forward to visiting here again and urge you not to overlook this gem.

There is no listing on google for the restaurant currently, but it was amazing. Every course was delicious and we will certainly be coming back!Thank you

A lovely hotel!A very clean room, fabulous breakfast and very helpful hostess made for a very good holiday.There were also two lovely and competent Polish young women.Tip: Try the lamb for an evening meal - delicious!

In the middle of the highlands, after miles without a house to be seen, we reached this lovely village, where we stayed for dinner at Square Hotel. Very nice staff, simple menu but good preparations, price was right...nice evening! and a fire burning at August the 21st!

Lovely hotel still needs a bit of upgrading but had lovely stay room was clean and comfortable staff where very helpful and breakfast was lovely would stay there again. 😁

Set in a lovely rural location. Very good clean hotel with luxury bedrooms. Food is lovely. Staff are very helpful and go out of there way to make the stay that extra relaxing. Was at the hotel due to business but will be planning on going back for a weekend break soon
