Nice birthday meal here. Staff were very attentive could even have a bit of banter with them.Great selection of whisky.The only I have knocked them down a star for is they don't have any dairy free desserts apart from sorbet.

Menu has something for everyone, from good honest fare to something a bit fancier. All freshly prepared, decent size portions and very tasty. Staff are excellent and very friendly and the manager goes out of his way to make sure you have a pleasurable experience, nothing is too much trouble. If it's not on the menu but they have the ingredients they will make it for you. This is our favourite place to eat.

Went for Sunday lunch and enjoyed a delicious meal.The whole experience is very traditional, with white table cloths, waiters in 'black and whites', and the ambience of a dining room rather than a bar or bistro.The Sunday menu had several roasts, plus favourites such as steak pie and salmon. My roast beef (carved from a sirloin) was very fine, my 2 guests had roast leg of lamb and steak pie and rated them very good. The puddings were good with a mix of traditional (apple and rhubarb crumble was a stand-out for me) and some more funky ones.We were given time to enjoy the meal, not hurried through like you can be, and the service was well judged - attentive without being asked every 2 minutes if everything is ok!For 3 mains and 2 desserts, plus a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks we paid a total of around £80 (June 2021) which I think represents good value.So, bottom line, if you're looking for good cooking, fair prices and a traditional lunch, give the Sunninghill a go.
