The Bothy Bistro in Moray

We had a brilliant lunch at The Bothy today, service, food and atmosphere were all excellent. We will certainly be back.

Very relaxing setting, with a pleasant and helpful service. Succulent charcuterie board and mussels for starters, followed with fantastic seafood with fabulous flavours!

Stopped off for lunch at The Bothy after a pleasant walk around the harbour and headland. Hadn't booked (advised) but there was a free table. Hoped to get a light lunch - sandwich or panini etc but not in the menu. Starters, main course, deserts and a Specials board. So went for the beer battered fish and chips £14 Mrs P chose the Bothy burger and fries £12.50. Good food and service from friendly staff but be aware that if it's just a sarnie you're after this isn't the place to go.....

Very disappointed on this occasion, we were staying at Hopeman and walked along to the bothy as we have been here before and the meal was great , unfortunately this time we left very disappointed ☹️, our starter arrived with parts missing, overcooked burger and a very soggy haddock that I had to remove the batter as it was just mushy. Staff very apologetic and offered a discount on our meal .

Bit of a drive in the dark from where we were staying but definitely worth the trip. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious. Was great to see such attention paid to local and seasonal foods. The borlotti bean soup was my surprise favourite of the night!

The Bothy and their vintage paella van were the perfect catering for our wedding. The gorgeous van, and those incredible paella pans became a focal point of our festival style reception.The food was amazing, not just the show-stopping paella, but the breads and salads served with it too. What a perfect way to show off local produce to our guests from around the world. Ruth and the team were very helpful in the planning and lead up and made every effort to answer all our questions and cater to our guests requirements. Thank you Bothy!

A homely cafe in the main street in Burghead with easy parking outside.There is an extensively varied menu with daily specials available. There are two rooms in the Bothy and the staff are friendly and very efficient. The food is delicious and freshly prepared for each order. Home made cakes are on sale, and friday evenings and saturdays cocktails are served.

Easy to find and park close to. On street parking, no restrictions. Wheelchair and pram access is ok. The menu is good, local produce but the pricing is a bit erratic. Some meals are under priced, others significantly over. The standard of cooking and the quality of ingredients is very good. Coffee is very good, as is the choice of cakes. There are a selection of wines and beers to buy to take away. The atmosphere is lively and the interior shabby chic and comfy.
