Disappointingly average would be the words to best describe our recent visit to the Copper Dog. Disappointing being justified by the fact that the food in the Craigellachie hotel used to be very good and the atmosphere was very unique. To see it having slipped so far from its former charm really is sad.The restaurant was looking run down. The lunch menu was OK.The staff outnumbered the guests but the service was still low-average.The food was acceptable but not brilliant...What was once a gem of speyside has definitely lost its former charm and unique experience. We paid the bill and left without complaint but agreed we would not be going back.

Absolutely worth a visit. Great food, moderately priced. Nice selection of beers and whiskys. Very nice staff. Great service. Part of the Craigellachie hotel

The food was good, burger very tasty, haddock was slightly greasy, soup was very good, polite and friendly staff, small pots of tomato/mayo/tartar sauce far too small. The deco was rustic and the ambiance was pleasant. Added gratuity was unnecessary and made it pricey.

Super cozy, dog friendly spot. Great food with fast service. Would love to come for a weekend

Food good but not great. Great atmosphere with live music.

Lovely dog friendly pub. Nice food with nice friendly staff

Very friendly service, good food with good ingredients. Only 4 stars because it is pricey for the portion sizes, especially considering the 12.5% discretionary service charge. Dog friendly, wish we knew before we left our dogs at our holiday accommodation though.

On holiday in area and recommended for Sunday lunch today 13/2/22.Lovely wee place and big bonus being dog friendly for our two well behaved miniature schnauzers which was a big part of our choice. They seem to be accommodating when asked if we could have two small plates of food for the dogs which we would pay extra for. Told no problem and would ask chef for mash, peas, beef and gravy. That’s were it went wrong am afraid ….Roast dinner was luke warm and average but reasonably price. The dogs food arrived after we ate which was also not what we asked for and they didn’t then eat it.We then had to leave as ran out of time as meeting friends. We paid the bill but have since noticed a 12% service charge added in with no explanation and £30 for 2 chicken dinners at full price for the dogs.So bill £40 more than it should have been.To say it was a disappointment is an understatement.Won’t be back

We have enjoyed dinner in the pub. Staff are friendly and helpful, advised us to try local assortment of whiskey:) The food was tasty especially steaks! Impressive authentic decoration

I have been to The Copper Dog on several occasions and it never fails to deliver on excellent service and quality. On a recent trip, we went for lunch and ordered from the very good for value Lunch Menu as well as items from the new Speyside Tapas menu. We probably ended up ordering too much as the portions are quite generous but that said, all plates were cleared 🙂 I personally ordered the vegetarian Baked Aubergine dish which was superb to say the least ( I am not Vegetarian). Other dishes included Truffled Lobster Macaroni, Vegetarian Haggis Tacos, Hand Dived Scallops and Girolle Mushroom Risotto. If I was being really picky, I'd say the texture of the Haggis Tacos didn't quite work for me although tasted lovely, the Monkfish Tacos we're, however, superb. All in all, a great experience, thank you 👍
