Really busy, friendly staff, a good chipper

·

Brilliant chippy, crisp fresh battered haddock, lovely chips, generous portion, and the staff are very friendly.

What's interesting looking through these reviews is that locals seem to (in general) have a better experience than folks that don't use the fry inn regularly! Lots saying best F&C in Buckie but there's little competition. I have lived here for 10 years and have never experienced good customer service in ANY of the local restaurants with exception of the Indian food establishments. If you visit Buckie be prepared to self cater or travel for food, even the subway is a waste of time because staff are poorly disciplined and on the whole rude!!!

Well it was open, clean and busy. Good chips, excellent mushy peas slightly disappointed with the fish. 3 stars probably a bit stingey but 4 a bit generous. Would go back if hungry!

Cash Only. Wear a face mask to enter... joke never be back here even after the pandemic finishes.... these people need a visit from the VAT man....

Food is absolutely perfect!Just wish staff would cooperate between themselves. Had a delivery tonight got all our order as singels when one of them was supposed to be a supper.Getting our chips soon better late then never.

Couldn't recommend this chippy ,took 33 minutes to get a fish supper and a single fish ,I understand that they do phone orders but when a customer that comes in about 10 minutes after you and orders the same as you and gets served before you it's definitely time to not come back! The customer even apologised to me!When I said to a staff member that I had been waiting for half an hour I was told "it's coming" and I did reply so is Christmas. Rude staff no apology for how long it took but plenty of cat calls of "bye" . I've said it before to my husband that the Fry Inn doesn't deserve customers parting with their hard earned cash. Definitely won't be back I'd rather drive to Fochabers or Portknockie both of whom have great chippys and friendly service. Clearly the owners of the Fry Inn do not take any notice of their reviews as there is quite a lot of bad ones but nothing has changed

Years ago, I used to frequent this chippy and it was superb apart from a few unfriendly staff. These days, however, everything seems to have gone down hill.Customer service is as poor as ever; if you're not a local the staff will either give you the cold shoulder or make you wait longer. If they do speak, it's very, very little (if anything) and with a grimace/glare.Prices have gone up a lot, which given the current quality, isn't warranted. Now onto the food itself:The fish was very oily/greasy and the batter, both very thin and soggy. The chips themselves were passable but a little on the cold and soggy side. The coffee looked like dirty dish water and tasted equally terrible. The only good thing about it was that it was hot. On the other hand, the smoothies are brilliant, particularly the strawberry flavour. All in all, very disappointed.
